antarctica Assignment

PART ONE Written component DUE DATE: Students must select a research station in Antarctica and answer the following questions. What station have you chosen? When was it established? What is the location in latitude and longitude? Who governs the station? What other stations surround it? What does the station look like? What is the weather like? Explain the purpose of the station. What would it be like to live at the station?

This component can be presented with Powerpoint/ Smartboard or on cardboard. Please note it does not have to be an Australian station. PART TWO Speech and Model components DATE: DUE

Imagine that you are working at a station in Antarctica. Using your research from the written component, prepare a 2 3 minute speech about what life is like on the station. You must also design a model of your station and present it to the class during your speech. You can either create a diorama, a cardboard diogram or use Web 2.0 tools on the computer.
