The real glory of the palace however lies in its wall murals, all done using the tempera process of painting. Forty-five scenes from the Ramayana adorn the long walls of the bedchamber.

Fort Kochi St. Francis Church

St. Francis Church was built by the Portuguese in the year 1510. Vasco Da Gama was buried here. This is the first Church built by foreigners in India. St. Francis Church was originally dedicated to Santo Antonio, the patron Saint of Portugal.
