1) After careful thinking I chose the iTunes website. I believe that apple uses demographic segmentation. It divides the market into segments based on age, gender, family size, family life cycle, income, occupation, education, religion, race, generation, and nationality. When looking at the website you can search all different kinds of music, games, apps, and movies, for all ages. You can read books that pertain to different religions and race. Demographic factors are the most popular bases for segmenting customer groups because consumers needs, wants and usage are very similar to demographic values. 2) I would start by targeting the people whom I would want to buy the products. Lets just pretend that these are made from recycled materials, we will now target the people who believe in being green (I would believe I fit in that category... Just saying) this is a market that seems to only keep growing. I would use the Differentiated (segmented) Marketing strategy, because it would be design and the feeling that would separate the business from others. 3) Segments must be measurable, substantial, accessible, differentiable, and actionable a) A cataract surgeon might use micromarketing: because it is more of a tailoring the surgery for a specific individual, for their needs. b) A culinary school might use undifferentiated (mass) marketing: because they are not being anything new but might offer more of a convenience approach.
