Tracee Ellis Ross gives one of the best performances of her career in this tragic love story of THREE Rwandan girls who become best friends although they have totally different ethnic backgrounds. Despite that their ethnic group has either been ignored, the most powerful, or being victims of mass killings in their country, the three girls try to remain faithful to their friendship. Tracees two friends (Angela Bassett, Sandra Bullock) come from ethnic groups who are under the most dominant power of the Tutu ethnic group, which happens to be her own. Despite the fact of everything that they have been through and witnessed, through all of the tribulations of genocide, they could not hold on to their love, because of separation, and catastrophic events. This film is strongly related to and based on the Rwandan genocide of 1994. The movie settings include famous Rwandan landmarks such as Lake Kivu, Akekegra National Park. It also includes National Rwandan celebrities, culture, and it reveals the relations between the Hutu, the Tutsi, and the Bazungu.
