Chrysler Customer-Specific Requirements

Chrysler - Specific Instructions

Unless superseded by specific written direction from a Chrysler Procurement and Supply representative, or by engineering drawing and specification requirements, the following instructions apply.

1.1 Submission Levels


Organizations providing parts to a Chrysler Assembly plant shall follow the guidelines for Submission Level 4. Organizations providing certain designated parts to a Chrysler Component or Powertrain plant shall follow the guidelines for Submission Level 2, or as otherwise specified by the receiving plant. In cases where Chrysler requires a bulk material submission, the organization shall reference the bulk material section in the PPAP manual.

1.2 Submission to Customer


Organizations submitting their PSWs for PRODUCTION PARTS designated for use at any Chrysler production facility shall utilize the Powerway website available at www.powerway.com. Organizations shall comply with all AQP methodology requirements in Powerway.

Organizations providing material for Chrysler S1 and subsequent PILOT BUILDS


shall also submit a PSW utilizing the above directions. Organizations shall submit a PSW in accordance with table 3.2 in the PPAP manual and in compliance with Chryslers Forever Requirements process.

Checking aids shall be submitted when required to perform dimensional inspection of the part being submitted. Organizations shall contact their Chrysler Supplier Quality Specialist to determine if this requirement can be waived.

1.4 Appearance Approval Report (AAR)
Organizations shall complete an Appearance Approval Report if the design records include any appearance features (e.g. Color, Grain, Finish, Appearance Standards, or Mastering Standards). Prior to submission of the PSW, organizations shall obtain a Chrysler Design Office approval signature on the AAR. NOTE: Both Interior and Exterior parts are included in the AAR procedure. Organizations providing Class A body exterior sheet metal shall follow Chrysler Manufacturing Quality Procedure MQGR-5705 for surface appearance review and approval. For further details concerning the specific requirements of this review and approval process, organizations shall contact their Chrysler Supplier Quality Specialist.

COMPLETION OF THE APPEARANCE APPROVAL REPORT
1) Chrysler End Item Number: Engineering released TRM or ten-digit boxcar end item (assembly) number. 2) Supplier Name: Enter Tier 1 component or end item supplier. 3) Supplier Name (if applic.): Enter Tier 2 component or end item supplier. 4) Model Year/Vehicle Code: List model year(s) and Chrysler vehicle code(s) in which part is used. 5) Component Part Number: Chrysler engineering released TRM or ten-digit boxcar component part number. 6) Manufacturing Location: Tier 1 location where part was manufactured or assembled. 7) Manufacturing Location (if applic.): Tier 2 location where part was manufactured or assembled. 8) Chrysler Release Engineer: Enter the name of the Chrysler Release Engineer responsible for the part being submitted. 9) Component Name: Enter the component part name. 10) Supplier Code: Chrysler assigned code for Tier 1 supplier location where the part was manufactured or assembled. 11) Supplier Contact: Tier 1 supplier representative responsible for submission. 12) Chrysler Supplier Quality Specialist: Enter name of Chrysler Supplier Quality person responsible for part being submitted. 13) Chrysler Texture ID (if applic.): Enter Chrysler identification number of type of texture (ex. CPM-xxx). 14) Texture Source (if applic.): Enter name of texturing source. 15) Texture Location on Part (if applic.): Enter description of area(s) of texture(s) delineation on part. 16) Pre-Texture and Post-Texture Surface Evaluation Approvals (parts to be initialed & dated, marked-up if necessary): a) Chrysler Release / Product Engineer approval signature to initiate appearance process and proceed with texture.* b) Chrysler Design Studio designee (conditional or full) approval signature of surface verification to proceed with texture.* c) Chrysler Mastering Studio designee approval signature to proceed with texture.* d) Chrysler Design Studio designee decision of ornamentation and graphic requirement approvals.

*Note: Texturing cannot proceed without sequential authorized signatures in 16a, 16b, and 16c. e) Chrysler Design Studio designee approval signature of Post-texture surface (if conditional Pre-texture given). f) Chrysler Mastering Studio designee approval signature for Post-texture. 17) Part Qualification Checklist: Information used to identify tooling, process, and material commodity (check all that apply). 18) Chrysler Base or Raw Material Specification # / Supplier Name / Raw Material Type: Enter Chrysler material specification code (ex: MSDB-xxxx), supplier name (ex: DuPont, Milliken, CGT), and raw material type (ex: PA-66, cloth, vinyl). 19) Type of Properties Required (if applic.): Name / process type cluster graphics, badges, labels, etc. / pad transfer, hot stamp, lithograph, heat transfer, silk screen, laser etch, soft touch feel, etc. 20) Chrysler PDO Approval Signature & Date: Chrysler Design Studio designee approval signature of identified properties. 21) Chrysler Colorant or Paint Specification / Supplier Name / Let-Down Ratio (if reqd.): Enter Chrysler Colorant or Paint Spec. # (MSPD-xxx), supplier name (ex: Redspot), and let-down ratio (25:1, 50:1, 100:1) of the material used to make the submitted part. 22) Chrysler Master No. and Color Code: Enter full master identification and color code as released by Chrysler (Refer to Trim Specification). 23) Chrysler Master Issue Date: Enter reference master revision date as supplied on Chrysler Master specimen. 24) Submit Lot Number: Enter lot, batch, or identification number colorant used to make submitted part. 25) Color and Gloss Part Data: List numerical (colorimeter) data of submission part as compared to the customer-authorized master. Enter gloss range using 60-degree geometry measuring equipment (one line to be used per submission). 26) Chrysler PDO Comments / Approval Status / Initials / Date: Chrysler comments regarding color and gloss disposition and/or color direction. Chrysler will indicate whether the color and gloss are accepted (A) or rejected (R), initial and date the form (Note: Final approval signature is still required). 27) Supplier Signature, Phone Number & Date: Supplier designated representative accountable for the certification that the submitted parts and document information is accurate and meets all the requirements specified. 28) Supporting documentation checklist: Chrysler verification of supporting documents for Appearance PPAP. 29) Comments: General / miscellaneous comments of importance to be initialed and dated.

30) Chrysler PDO Interim Approval Signature: Chrysler Design Office Interim approval of end item or component part. Requires IAA for usage at this submission level. 31) Chrysler PDO Final Approval Signature: Chrysler Design Office Final appearance approval of end item or component part. ALL SIGNATURES AND DATES (areas 16, 20 (if applicable), 26 & 31) MUST BE COMPLETED FOR FULL AAR APPROVAL.

Interim Approval
Interim Approval Authorization

The Interim Approval Authorization (IAA) is an official document approved by Chrysler to allow interim approval and shipment of parts which do not fully meet all PPAP requirements. In cases where interim approval is granted, the organization will receive an approved IAA from Chrysler authorizing shipment for a limited time or a specified quantity of parts. After expiration of the specified time or quantity of parts authorized on the IAA, or once parts meet all PPAP requirements, a complete PPAP submission is required to obtain a status of Approved.

Third Party Laboratories

Organizations not designated by Chrysler as Self Certified are required to use an accredited third party laboratory to verify dimensional and material/functional tests prior to submission of a PSW. The name of the accredited third party laboratory utilized shall be entered into Powerway at the time of PSW submission.

The third party laboratory must be accredited by an organization recognized by Chrysler to accredit to ISO/IEC 17025. For further information, refer to the Quality Management Systems Information website available through Covisint.
