CDMA introduction « Transmits on all frequencies all the time so all the users interfere « Each uses a dedicated code given to them by the transmitter to enable the receiver to pick out its intended signal from all the other interfering signals. So for:- — Data bit=1 the 64 bit code word is sent — Data bit =0 the inverted code word is sent A large amount of redundancy has now been added and the data rate is now 1024Kbits/s This signal is now transmitted and so uses 64 times the bandwidth needed for sending using FODMA We have thus spread the spectrum.
