Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor can be also known as "Malignant schwannoma, "Neurofibrosarcoma," and "Neurosarcoma". This is a form of cancer of the connective tissue surrounding nerves. Depending on the size and location of the MPNST (Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor) treatment can include: Surgery, in which the doctors remove as much as the cancerous tumor of possible (surgical resection). Radiation therapy or Chemotherapy may be used when the doctors can not remove the entire cancerous tumor by surgery. Radiation therapy may also be considered by a doctor When you are getting treated for chemotherapy, it may have a lot of side effects like: Anemia, appetite changes, bleeding problems, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, hair loss, infection, memory changes, mouth and throat changes, nausea and vomiting, nerve changes, pain, sexual and fertility changes in both men and women, skin and nail changes, swelling and urination changes. Anemia: when your body doesnt have enough red blood cells. This can make you feel tired or weak. To handle anemia you should take short naps of at least an hour a day, exercise a little, eat and drink well (eat lots of protein). Chemotherapy can hurt your cells that make your hair grow so you may experience hair loss, hair on your head and body may fall out this condition is called Alopecia. Your hair may start falling 2-3 weeks after chemotherapy begins. When your hair begins to fall out you should protect your head from the sun, use sunscreen or wear a hat, you should also protect your head from the cold wear a scarf or a hat. Your hair will grow back 2-3 months after chemotherapy is all done. For most men It is ok to have sex during chemotherapy as long as they ask their doctor about it first and they use a condom, the chemotherapy can be in your sperm cells. During Chemo you may not be able to have an erection, you may not be able to have an orgasm and you may be too tired to have sex.
