Level A2 (beginner) 15 minutes The pictures below can be seen in most British payphones. Study them, then match each picture to the appropriate explanatory note. Write the letter of each picture in the boxes. One box will be empty. Put letters in 6 boxes. We have done the first one for you as an example.
Example: Insert coins. For short calls avoid using 50p or L1 coins.

Push in your card as far as it will go. Leave it in the phone while you call. Dial the number. Watch the message window while you make your calls. Emergency calls. Lift receiver. Do not insert phonecard. Ask operator for service required. If you use a behind-the-ear hearing aid, move the switch to the 'T' position and then hold the telephone earpiece near the aid. If you want to repeat a call hang up and then lift the receiver again. Push in your card as far as it will go. Take it out immediately. Wait for the voice message to tell you what to do. Lift the receiver.
