1. In general, how successful was the lesson? Did the students learn what you intended for them to learn? How do you know? The lesson was a success. I wanted them to evaluate and analyze ethical situations. I definitely captured their attention with the opening. It was hilarious watching their reactions when I started class by putting things in my pocketbook to take home. 2. As I reflect on the lesson, to what extent were students productively engaged (not just busy)? Provide specific evidence of how they were engaged. They were engaged as I asked questions regarding ethical situations. I randomly called on students to answer questions. They paid attention to make sure they were prepared if called on. 3. Comment on your classroom procedures, student conduct, and your use of physical space. To what extent did these contribute to and/or take away from student learning? My classroom procedures contribute to the learning environment. Students do well in a structured environment. 4. Did you depart from your plan for this lesson? If so, how, and why? I did depart one time when I asked students what their responses to the survey were. I wanted it to be interactive as much as possible so I just went with it at the moment. 5. Comment on different aspects of your instructional delivery (e.g., activities, grouping of students, materials, resources, etc). To what extent were they effective? All resources are available on-line for the students to download. There is no waiting for me to pass out papers. These methods are effective. 6. If you had a chance to teach this lesson again to the same group of students, what would you do differently? Why? I would plan on the a few students acting out the opening. I think that it would be helpful to do an ethical situation that they could relate to.
