For my English project I choose to present you three English personalities: Alexander Bell - was an eminent scientist, inventor,

engineer and innovator who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone, Amy Johnson she was the first woman to fly solo to Australia and Elizabeth Fry - she was the driving force in England legislation to make the treatment of prisoners more humane. The four personality , the most extraordinary person that I want to present you is Mother Teresa. She describes her self as By blood, I am Albanian. By citizenship, an Indian. By faith, I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the Heart of Jesus. Others may say that she was a soul filled with the light of Christ, on fire with love for Him and burning with one desire: to quench His thirst for love and for souls. She really was all that and more. The whole of Mother Teresas life and labour bore witness to the joy of loving, the greatness and dignity of every human person, the value of little things done faithfully and with love, and the surpassing worth of friendship with God. Another remarkable woman was Amy Johnson. She became interested in flying at the age of twenty-five and used every bit of money she earned as a secretary to pay for flying lessons. She also showed a knack for mechanical devices and apprenticed with an airplane mechanic, becoming the first British Woman to be granted an aircraft ground engineers license. In 1930 she decided to become the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia, and was intent on breaking Bert Hinklers record for the flight. She took off from Croydon on May 3 and completed the early legs of the flight in record time, beating Hinklers London-to-Karachi time by an amazing two days. But the last portions of the flight did not go well (largely because of the plane), and when she arrived in Australia she had taken four days longer than Hinkler to make the flight. She was disappointed, but all of Australia and England cheered her for being the first woman to complete so hazardous a solo flight. Amy Johnson inspired songs and fashions, and drew the admiration of her public with her direct manner of speaking.
