How can you determine if two lines are perpendicular? As we know, two equations are perpendicular if their slopes are negative reciprocals of one another, i.e. 2 and -1/2. What the y intercept is, doesnt make any difference, only slope matters. To compare these slopes, I take the equations in the form of y = mx + b, then I can compare the ms, or the slopes of each equation.
