Mazda 6 Hatchback (Produced From 2002 To 2007) Japanese automaker Mazda launched first generation of Mazda 6 Engine from

2002 t o 2007 assportier, mid sized sedan. Mazda 6 incorporated new spirited design and was offered indifferent bodystyles like Hatchback, Saloon and Estate. Being a p erformance car, even the mostbasicmodels cameequipped with an engine capable of producing more than 100bhp and reaching 0 to 60 under11seconds. Allthe petrol en gines used in sportier Hatchbacks were 4 cylinder, 16 valve engines basedonmulti point fuelinjection systems. These hatchbacks had a boot big enough to accommodate 492 liters withfuel capaci ty of64 litres and a turning radius of 10m. All models of hatchbacks could tow 1 500 kg of braked and 550 kg of unbraked weight, except the smaller 1.8 S and 1.8 TS which had an unbraked towing capacity of 1300 kg. Engines in petrol powered Mazda 6 ranged from 1.8 litre to 2.5 litre. 1.8 And 2.0 litre petrol engines wer e used in following hatch back models, produced from 2002 to 2007. 1.8 S 5D & 1.8 S TS 5D: These were 1.8 litre, 118 bhp standard Mazda 6 models, capable of reaching 0 to 60 in 10.6 sec with top speed of 121 mph. They came with 5 speed manual gearboxe s and achieved 36 MPG. Both these models were awarded grade 17 from insurance st andpoint and placed in group J tax bracket. They produced 186g CO2 per km and th us lied in group IV according to UK emission guide. 2.0 Katano 5d, 2.0 Kumano 5d, 2.0 Tamura 5d, 2.0 TS (147ps) 5d and 2.0 TS2 (147p s) 5d: Though these models had different badges, they had identical specs. Their 2.0 li tre engines produced 144 bhp which pushed them to 60 in 9.6 seconds. They had to p speed of 130 mph and their 6 speed manual transmission allowed 35 MPG. Katano and 2.0 TS was awarded grade 20 whereas rest of them were graded 21 by insurance standards. All of them were placed in J bracket as their CO2 emission rate was 196g/km. 2.0 TS2 5d Auto: This model had a 2.0 litre, 139 bhp engine capable of pushing it to 60 in 11.6 s econds with top speed of 121 mph. Its 4 speed auto gearbox allowed it to achieve 32MPG. It was awarded 21 grade from insurance stand point and was placed in K b and from tax perspective as its CO2 emission was 209g/km.
