FSRU/LNG Systems
LMC have developed 2 designs for the growing floating LNG markets: These referenced in the 2 projects below:

FSRU External turret

Developed with Saipem, LMC have designed an external turret for use on a converted LNG carrier. The structure is configured based on previous LMC designs but with modification to allow for the structural arrangement of an LNG vessel. The mooring is designed for moderate environment operation. The design includes a large capacity gas swivel with flexibility for optical and electrical paths.

Gift LNG Terminal

As part of a European consortium including Doris Engineering of Paris, Alstom (previously Chantier d' Atlantique), DNV and the University of Athens, LMC provided internal turret and mooring design for an extremely large capacity newbuild FSRU with a membrane containment system. The overall design has been detailed to a high level and includes full consideration of side by side mooring, classification and construction considerations. The design includes a large capacity gas swivel with flexibility for optical and electrical paths and is intended for water depths of approximately 75m. A key benefit is that it is very large and can be induced to weathervane about its turret mooring, so that LNG tankers that berth at the terminal are provided with shelter whilst they berth and discharge.
