A. The domain and range of a function are 2 different things.

The domains of a function are all possible real values x can be, while the range is all possible real values y can be. A real life situation which can be modeled by a function is a cost rate. Example: You are going to sign a deal with a new cell phone company which charges 20 dollars for the phone and 10 dollars per month for the talking-texting-everything. You want to be with them for 2 years, but want to know how much it will cost. You have only 250, and want to know if it is enough. You can make a linear equation which is: Where 20 is the constant and the y intercept, and 10 is the slope or the cost per month. If we plug in 24 for x (since there are 24 months in 2 years), we can solve for y which is the cost. ( )
