Narrative Description of Project:

Mini/Micro Hydel Projects (MMHP) with a installed capacity ranging from 5KW-100KW but below 1MW have potential to meet power requirements of remote and isolated areas and Arunachal Pradesh has highest numbers of such potential sites, as such the State Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh is giving special emphasis to promote the MMHP projects for electricity generation in the entire state. Rs. 550 Crore amount had been sanctioned under Prime Minister (P.M.) Package for Power sector to achieve the ultimate goal of electrification which is distributed under three departments for execution of the projects. In this regard, APEDA as one of the Implementing Agency has entrusted NEDFi as Third Party Monitor for carrying out evaluation and physical monitoring of MMHP projects under PM Package to improve the planning and implementation mechanism of the projects and moreover to improve operation and maintenance aspect of the projects.

Description of Actual Services Provided in the Assignment: Project Evaluation and Monitoring of 98 nos. of Micro & Mini Hydel Projects (MMHP)
spreading across all 16 districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

Impact assessment studies, socio-economic benefits accruing out of these projects. Look into quality aspect of the projects. Verify and cross check financial as well as physical progress. Identify the constraints, if any fix responsibility and make suitable recommendations.
