Part A - WARM UP GAMES PROFORMA PDHPE (students are to use one part A proforma for each of the 4 games,

s, one page for each one)

Name of the Game: Touch Base Stage : Early stage 1 Explanation: The students are in two teams and all wear the Velcro belt with tags (used for oztag). They not only have to make it to the opposite side of the field with their tags still attached, they are only safe once they reach a marked destination which can be drawn with chalk or stated with an imaginary line. One team grabs the tags and the other team tries to reach the bases. If your tags are grabbed, you then join the grabbing team. Both teams have a go at grabbing and running.

Why is this game important for this stage? Movement in this game involves walking and running. This is a minor game that the children can warm up with and also get be aware of the space around them. By implementing running and chasing it creates a fun atmosphere for the children to wake up and be more active for the games that will follow throughout the day. The game Touch Bases is important for Early stage 1 because it is a fun and simple game that can be easily played with little to equipment at all. This game teaches the students about spatial awareness, as they would have boundaries and areas which they can entre and cannot. With all these aspects it makes it a perfect warm-up activity.

What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? MOES1.4 Demonstrates a general awareness of how basic movement skills apply in play and other introductory movement experiences. This game involves power walking, running and demonstrates balance also includes high knee lift when sprinting GSES1.8 Demonstrates fundamental movement skills while playing with and sharing equipment. Includes a number of smaller games into one and the use of equipment. Students will be learning a number of skills in this game. Such as walking and running in different temps so for example when being chased they will pick up the pace to avoid being tipped. Students will learn about the equipments they are using and learn variety of ways, which they can be used to create all sorts of games and different uses of the equipment.
