Dear Residents, Criminal Damage and theft of motor vehicles: Great result with regards to criminal damage to vehicles. Weve had two people in custody for one offence of criminal damage and the arrest of 5 males after a cross-neighbourhood border arrest in relation to a theft of motorcycle from Charlestown Road. Appeal for Homewatch: We are looking to re-dress Home Watch. We sadly lost our police Home Watch Co-ordinator position and now Home Watch is run locally. This means Neighbourhood Beat Officers like ourselves will have to re-visit and manage Home Watch. We aim to plan and conduct a Gala event to present the shape Home Watch will take from a localised perspective. Initially we are going to speak to local community Home Watch Co-ordinators and set a date in the near future. If you would like to become a Home Watch co-ordinator and/or assist us to establish a new Home Watch scheme in your street - meaning youll have a direct link to your local police and assistance in addressing issues in your community - then please reply to this email. Avenue Library: the Avenue Library is fully open and boasts an ICT Suite to assist the community with getting to grips with computers. Please call in to the Library to enquire further. We will be trying to get to the Library in the future in order to speak to people. Results of our 24 hour Bob in Bobby: the event at Tesco last week went exceptionally well. Between the team: (i) We apparently rode 703 kms (ii) We raised 510.00+ funds for Manchester based charity Retrak (iii) We engaged with loads of community members - and now have approx. 200 quality new contacts to receive our weekly newsletters (iv) We still delivered on our neighbourhood covering SEC appts, Op Shield visits, school presence, and dealing with crimes & incidents and the like ..... (v) We tweeted out throughout the 24 hour period getting lots of positive coverage for the neighbourhood, and several new twitter followers (vi) We promoted twitter and the neighbourhood police team in general Until next time, thank you from your Local Neighbourhood Team.
