CALCULATION OF TEMPERATURE RISE IN TEST BED TANK

Maximum flow rate considered=600LPS (9510.2GPM) ~10000GPM Maximum head produced=16bar (160m head of water column) Efficiency Considered to be 75% Now highest motor or engine rating considered 250KW. As Pump efficiency assumed 75% taking into consideration the worst scenario, 25% of the energy supplied will eventually result in temperature increase of the tank water. Considering there should be a minimum of 10 gallons of usable water in the pump test pit for each GPM of pump capacity, it counts to 1,00,000 gallons i.e. 380m3 of water in the tank. Now, If the pump runs continuously for 45 minutes, the total temp rise will be T= (250X0.25X45X60)/(378.5X4.2X1000) = 0.106 deg C
