Sheikh MUHAMMAD ‘ABDEL - HALIM HIGAB
was born in Egypt and graduated from Faculty of
Arabic Language of Al Azhar University the world’s
Leading Islamic seminary .
He studid B.A. with Education in Arabic & Islamic
Studies. in 1959 he obtained his post graduate degree (
AL - Alimiyyah with Education ) in Arabic & Islamic
Studies. in 1961 he completed THE THREE YEAR
POST-GRADUATE ENGLISH COURSE IN
ENGLISH OF AL-AZHAR’S ADVISORS
ABROAD. Shiekh muhammad Higab taught in Cairo
from 1959 at all levels. in March 1959, he joined Al-
Azhar to be in charge of Media & Translation in
sheikh Al-Azhar’s office. In September 1961 he was
delegated to Naigeria ( among the first five-Ulamas )
to teach Arabic & Islamic Studies at the School for
Arabic Studies, Kano. in]964 he was seconded for one
year to the Fuculty of Arabic & Islamic Studies of
Abdullahi Bayero College, Kano ( now Bayero
University ) as a Lecturer for Arbic Literature.
Towards the end of 1967, Shiekh Muhammad Higab
was trnsferred to Government College, Kaduna where
he founded the department of Arabic & Islamic
Studies. he later served as Vice-principal of the
College from 1975 to 1978.
