Loyola Marymount University has a full time employment opportunity for an Ethnic and Intercultural Affairs Associate. Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent provides specific programming and services for Latino students, including but not limited to biracial/multiracial students that nurtures the education of the whole person (intellectual, social, interpersonal, spiritual and civic responsibility) in an intercultural campus community. The incumbent collaborates with the Ethnic and Intercultural Services Department offices, other Student Affairs departments, and Academic Affairs to administer ethnic and intercultural student development programs for the entire LMU community. We seek candidates who typically possess a Masters degree in higher education, preferably in post-secondary education or student affairs or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 4 years in multicultural advisement experience in higher education or experience in progressively responsible positions. Grant writing and fundraising experience is necessary. In addition, demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: student development, program coordination, student leader advisement, leadership development, cross-cultural development/training, conflict mediation skills, in-depth knowledge of the needs of Latino/a, biracial, multiracial, foster care, first generation, transfers and undeclared students, conflict management, consensus building, familiarity with ethnic studies, group dynamics and fiscal management in higher education setting is preferred.
