Dear Volunteers, Congratulations on being a part of The Citizens Foundation (TCF) Summer Camp!

On behalf of TCF, we welcome you and we hope that this summer is filled with much excitement and with many cherishable moments. In keeping with the tradition of The Citizens Foundation, this will be the 5 th Summer Camp with over 3000 TCF students from Grades 3, 4 and 5 participating in Karachi. To manage and facilitate the program, we will have over 300 young and empassioned volunteers like yourself registered to run the program. Summer Camp is a wonderful platform for students from schools in underprivileged areas to interact with young adults like yourself and in doing so for the child and for you to learn and grow as happy and responsible citizens. However, I am sure that you and your families are already aware of the government directive in Sindh regarding change in summer holidays to July-August instead of the earlier months of June-July. In order to ensure harmony across our network in Sindh, we have decided to align our schedule with this change. However, this means that out Annual Teachers Training and the Summer Camp dates are coinciding, due to which TCFs own transport vehicles will be insufficient to serve both events. This makes it difficult for a not for profit organization like TCF that has to manage its events with limited resources. Given this situation, we would request each of our volunteers to make a voluntary cash contribution of Rs. 2,000 towards transport for the entire three week duration of the Summer Camp. The money collected will be used in renting vans for our teacher training program, thereby freeing up the TCF transport to be used for you, our young volunteers. We would be humbled by your contribution to this effect. Once again, I thank you for your sincere interest in volunteering for the Summer Camp. I assure you that this gesture will go a long way smooth running of the Summer Camp and in turn in bringing smiles to the faces of many children!
