Sam Hickson (b.

Chester, UK, 1985) studied Media Theory at London College of Communication followed by Fine Art Skills and Practice at Central Saint Martins. Most recently he is studying Print at Wimbledon School of Art. His work is fuelled by the confrontation between the Self and Other. Suggesting a multitude of complex, perceptual realities clashing, identifying elements of control and the vulnerability of the unconscious. A pushing and pulling between; the rational and the ephemeral, systemising the romantic, observing from critical distance ones self. His work is focused in its investigation but practically moves back and forth between print and video. Sam has previously contributed to creative workshops in Calcutta India with Transit Artist Collective (2009) and more recently created print workshops with the Bluecoat for Liverpools disabled community groups.
