POM( PRODUCTIONS OPERATION MANAGEMENT ) INVOLVES BOTH STRATEGIC AS WELL AS TACTICAL DECISIONS. 1. STRATEGIC DECISIONS :-- ARE THOSE WHICH HAVE IMPLICATIONS OF LONG DURATION ( NORMALLY OVER ONE YEAR ) AND MAY TAKE OVER A YEAR TO IMPLEMENT. TACTICAL DECISIONS :-- ARE THOSE THAT CAN BE SUBSTANTIALLY IMPLEMENTED IN ONE YEAR OR LESS.
