COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Competitive Advantage There are several ethical Issues that arise from an employer who requires that their employees dedicate hours of both work and travel for the sake of their careers. First rises the issues for those with spouses and children long hours away from the family unit can cause emotional hardships as well as lead to the destruction of the family. Secondly It can cause health issues if the employee is not getting adequate rest and food, which can ultimately result in serious health issues. Third it can cause Personal conflicts over cultural beliefs and traditions as well as bring up more underlying issues pertaining to the employees moral and ethical values. This is mostly seen in the role of mothers; many women including myself feel a strongly about their maternal role and desire to be as active as possible in the upbringing of their children. I left my career and became a stay at home mom because of the emotional struggle I was having working long hours outside of the home and when I was home I was either too exhausted to play with my little boy or I was weighted down with research and proposals. When I approached my boss with the issues and concerns that I was having and told him that my husband was even considering separation because a was never home, Physically, or emotionally. When he was unwilling to help me reach a better balance allowing me to lighten my workload a couple of days out of the week ,which I thought was reasonable, I made the decision to find a job that allowed me more flexibility and balance to be both career woman, wife, and mother. I feel a manager or employer have to enable employees to create a balanced professional and private life in order to create a happier and healthier work environment.
