Postgraduate Diploma Programme Matrix for Practising Engineers

PREAMBLE In order to open a window of opportunities to practicing engineers, The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) offers Postgraduate Diploma Programme to its Associates and Corporate Members in selected engineering disciplines (namely, Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical and Quality Engineering and Management). This programme facilitates the members to widen their knowledge and acquainting them with new and emerging technologies to upgrade competence in the competitive industrial environment. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME MATRIX A schematic representation of the postgraduate programme matrix is given hereunder :

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA

The examinations in Parts I and II are conducted by IEI to award Postgraduate Diploma. Candidates already registered for PG Diploma/Degree Programme and having valid Registration Number shall only be permitted to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in respective field of engineering within the prescribed stipulated period.
EXAMINATION The examination shall be conducted twice in a year (announcement of each examination will be intimated to all registered candidates by post and also the same announcement will be given in website, just three months ahead of commencement of examination. Examination in each subject shall be of three hours duration. Candidates registered for the programme shall be eligible to appear at the examination. Each applicant should submit the Examination Form within the specified date along with the prescribed examination fee in the form of demand draft only. A registered candidate for Part I or Part IIA shall be permitted to appear at an examination in one or more subjects but not exceeding five subjects at a time. No candidate shall be allowed to appear in any subject of Part II without passing Part I completely. At present, the examination is being conducted at Chennai (600), Delhi (110), Ahmedabad (380), Hyderabad (500), Kolkata (700), and Nagpur (440).
