STATEMENT REGARDING LOCAL 54S ORDINANCE SUBMISSION June 7, 2012 Local 54 efforts in seeking a referendum for city ordinances

concerning casino workers are really a faade for the unions campaign against Revel. Local 54 repeatedly misinforms the residents of Atlantic City, their own union members and other workers in this community. We would like to set the record straight:

Revel does not pay substandard wages. Rather, Revels pay scale is, on average, at or above every other casino in Atlantic City. As operations begin to normalize, Revels part time to full time ratio is expected to be consistent with other casinos in Atlantic City. Revel offers a comprehensive benefits package to every single full time employee of our resort. Revels Defined Service Cycle encourages engagement with our resort guests and those employees can continue another term of employment with Revel, with no cut in wages, benefits or seniority, if they so desire and are still motivated in their jobs, or if they choose they can move on to bigger and better opportunities either within Revel or outside of Revel. We prefer to allow the employee to make their own choice. Revel offers Paid Time Off for every full time employee which allows for sick time, vacation, holiday in addition to jury duty and bereavement. Paid Time Off is earned by every full time employee beginning on their first day of employment. Revel offers other benefits to every employee that Local 54 fails to mention including a funded 401(k) program and the ability to earn a bonus, unheard of in the current economy.

This referendum is a very transparent attempt by UNITE-HERE Local 54 to target Revel by providing false information to the community in which we live and work. The unions efforts are not about improving the living and working conditions of non-union employees in Atlantic City---Revels employees already have that. This is about one thing: increasing the monthly revenue for UNITE-HERE Local 54 by increasing dues-paying members. Local 54 should strive to become a more productive member of the Atlantic City community rather than attempting to frighten the hardworking people of this city.
