Describe a character from literature that you would trade places with. And explain why.

The Old Man And the Sea, written by Ernest Hemingway, is known by whole world. If I had chance could be a literature character, I might choose that old man, Santiago. Once you know how strong he is, you must have the same idea with me. The story talks about the old fisher, Santiago, lives near by the sea alone and leads an impoverished life. There is only a boy called Manolin who talks to him sometimes and helps him doing the petty things. Santiago has gone 84 days without catching a fish, although he is so unfortunate, he doesnt give up easily. On the eighty-fifth day, he still be optimistic going fishing on the sea. This time, he is so lucky that he finally catches a big marlin. However, marlin is too heavy that Santiago unable to catch it by himself. Marlin pulls Santiago and his boat to the center of the sea, in order to catch this big fish, Santiago fight with marlin for three days and three nights. By his stubborn patience, he conquers solitary, pain, and starvation, finally he kills marlin successfully. If I could be brave as Santiago, I must could solve every problem like him. He teaches us no matter how difficult the situation it is, we should not give up easily, we never know how strong we are before we really fight for us indeed. Sometimes we may think we are small, but the truth is, all of us are ignore ours greatest strengths. Santiago, although his life isnt lucky, he still works hard for his life and always be optimistic toward what he has. He doesnt blame for god or anyone, he just lives his life peacefully. This story also emphasize the importance that A person born on this world is not for be defeated. and A person could be ruined but couldnt be defeated. This way, we may realize that maybe our body can be torture, but our minds should keep patient, so that our lives could be glorious. Santiago, the most perseverant character that I admire, his strong willpower is that we cannot imagine it easily. Even an old man could do things so hard, how about our younger people. If I could be Santiago, I must do my best just like him and make my life more meaningful.
