Reflection Paper

At the beginning of the module 1, we have discussed how we view the Bible. My answer to that question was that the Bible is where we base our faith and our values. What we do everyday is based on the Bible because it is our basis of good and evil. Our faith depends on the Bible because we can find the teachings of God in the Bible.

Since then, I have learned so much. Our answers at the beginning were the usual answers whenever were asked the question what is our view of the Bible. It may be a book for me or some of my classmates, but there is a deeper meaning to it. I can see now that the Bible is more than just a history book or a symbol of our faith or a symbol of God. Its not just a book that we read whenever were required to.

The Bible may also be a messenger, telling us which things we can do whenever we are in a situation we dont know how to handle. It is very helpful and useful to us. I have said that our faith depends on it because of the teachings. But we have the reasons not to follow the bible and still we choose to follow it. We may choose to be on the bad side and sometimes we do choose the bad side, but because of the guidance of the bible, we go back to doing good.

We may not have notice it, but there are a lot of events that happened in the Bible that can be connected to what we have now. For example, voting or we can even say democratic voting, the people has a say in the decision of the higher official. Like the story of Pontius Pilate where he asked the people who they want to be freed. Or having a family meal or Holy Communion, jut like the last supper. Family meal or Holy Communion is a very important meal for us. Comparing it to what happened during the time of Jesus, we can say that it has started there. The Last Supper is a very important event that happened before. Jesus was with his disciples taking a meal and theyre receiving the Body and Blood of Christ which we do until now. Some of the communities that we have now, like Ligaya ng Panginoon, they do the Last Supper again every year during the Holy Week.

We may think that were the only ones to benefit from the Bible, but it may also be way of thank you to God for giving us this book. And for teaching us ways to praise Him and thank Him for all the things that he has done for us.
