1. Post your responses to the following questions based on Oliver Sacks’ The
Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat Chapters 1 and 8.
a. Given your initial understanding of cognitive psychology and its
history, how is cognitive psychology related to Chapters 1and 8 give
specific examples?
b. Oliver Sacks is a neurologist by training. How do you think a
psychologist may have approached the problems posed by the
patients?
c. Pick one person and discuss whether you feel they lack a "self" or if
their sense of "self" is just altered by their disorder.
d. What struck you the most about these readings? Post your response to
a particular question or issue raised within the text to our blog.
2. In preparation for our next class, complete all the comprehensive check
questions in Chapter 1 and bring to our next class.
