MULTISTAGE AMPLIFIERS

Different Coupling Schemes Used In Amplifiers:1. Resistance Capacitance(R-C) Coupling. 2. Transformer Coupling. 3. Direct Coupling.

R-C Coupled Amplifier:-

The voltage gain of first stage, Av1 = Ro1/re1 Similarly, Voltage gain of second stage, Av2 = Ro2/re2 Therefore, Overall voltage gain of the amplifier, Av = Av1.Av2 = Ro1/ro1 Ro2/re2

Transformer Coupled Amplifier:-

The voltage gain of the first stage, Av1 = Ro1/re1 And voltage gain of the second stage, Av2 = Ro2/re2 = aRL/re2 Overall voltage gain, Av = Av1.Av2 = Ro1/re1 aRL/ re2

Direct Coupled Amplifier:The voltage gain of first stage, Av1 = Ro1/(re1+R4) And voltage gain of second stage, Av2 = Ro2/(re2+R4) Now the Overall voltage gain, Av = Av1.Av2 = Ro1/(re1+R4) Ro2/(re2+R4)
