Wireless bridge with a Router to extend the range of the wireless signal

1.Underneath the Access Point there is a WAN MAC Address, write it down in a separate paper. 2.Connect the Access Point to the power supply and place it close to the Router. Now the configuration has to be done on the Router. 3.If you have a Belkin Router then go to the web interface of the Router typing 192.168.2.1 in Internet Explorer. If you have changed the IP address of the Router then you need to type the new IP address. If you have a Router that is not Belkin, you need to make sure that your Router has the option in the configuration to do a Wireless Bridge, please contact the manufacturer of your Router for this information. We dont support this configuration with Routers that are not Belkin. There is no need to do any configuration in the Access Point. 4.Once you have enter the web interface go to the menu at the left and press on Wireless Bridge.

Tick the option Enable Wireless Bridging and Enable ONLY specific Access Points to connect Where it says AP1 enter the WAN MAC Address number that was underneath the Access Point and then Apply Changes.

5. In your computer with Wireless connection look for Wireless networks available and you should see a network called belkin 54g. 6. Highlight it and connect to this network and verify that you have connection to the Router. If you want to verify if you have connection to the Router you will need to do a ping in the DOS prompt. You should receive 4 replies from the Router, if you dont then there is no connection to the Router.

To do a ping follow this steps: Go to Start, then Run type CMD or Command and press OK and the the following Window will appear. Where the cursor is flashing type ping 192.168.2.1 (or the IP address of your router) and press Enter

If you have 4 replies it mans that the connection is made and now you can enter the configuration web page of the Router going to Internet Explorer and typing in address 192.168.2.1 and you will have the following Window.

Now you are connected to your Router through the AP doing a Wireless Bridge. Place the AP anywhere in between the Router and the Computers you are connecting to it.
