LT - Transformer LOAD TEST ON SINGLE PHASE TRANSFORMER AIM: To conduct a load test on a given single phase transformer and

to analyze the performance characteristics. Apparatus required: Sl.No 1 2 3 4 PRECAUTIONS: 1. Auto transformer should be kept in minimum position. 2. The AC supply is given and removed from the transformer under no load condition. PROCEDURE: OC TEST:1. Connections are made as per the circuit diagram. 2. After checking minimum position of the auto transformer the DPST switch or MCB is closed. 3. The auto transformer is adjusted until the rated voltage of the primary. The readings of all the meters are tabulated. 4. To switch off the autotransformer is adjusted to zero voltage and the DPST switch or MCB is closed. OC TEST:1. Connections are made as per the circuit diagram. 2. After checking minimum position of the auto transformer the DPST switch or MCB is closed. 3. The auto transformer is adjusted until the rated current of the primary. The readings of all the meters are tabulated. 4. To switch off the autotransformer is adjusted to zero position and the DPST switch or MCB is closed. 1 Apparatus required Ammeter Voltmeter Wattmeter Autotransformer Range (0-1)A (0- 10 )A (0-60) V (0-150) V 150 V, 5A 150 V, 5A 1 (0-260 V) Type MI MI MI MI UPF LPF Qty 1 1 1 1 1 1 1
