THE FOLLOWING POINTS DISCUSSED ABOUT THE COTTON BALES STORED IN WAREHOUSE

1) Agreed to remove the cotton bales stored close to the roof which may cause sliding and spontaneous combustion. 2) Agreed to remove the cotton bales stored in the aisles and pathway which will create congestion in the event of fire fighting. There should be 1m or 3 ft space in between all 4 sides of the wall and stocks to facilitate easy movements in the event of contingency. 3) Agreed to take up with VESDA supplier to replace the PVC pipes with metal conduit . Even though VESDA system has the ability to detect the smoke early, If fire held other than the warehouse , there is no use of the PVC pipes and it too will feed the supply. 4) In VESDA system, there is only one suction blower. If it fails, the system is down till it is repaired by supplier. Suggested to have standby sample suction blower. Pls take up with the supplier. 5) No sprinkler system in the warehouse. Agreed to take up with management due to high capital cost.
