Education (Amendment) Regulations 2001 GN No.

176 of 2001 THE EDUCATION ACT Regulations made by the Minister under Section 38 of the Education Act 1. 2. These regulations may be cited as the Education (Amendment) Regulations 2001. In these regulations "principal regulations" means the Education Regulations 1957. 3. Regulation 10 of the principal regulations is amended(a) (b) in paragraph (i) in subparagraph (a) (ii), by inserting immediately before the words "lives in such catchment area" the word "he"; the following

by adding immediately after subparagraph lb subparagraph (c)

Any child who attains the age of 5 on or before 31 January in the year in which he seeks admission may be admitted to a Government primary school or to an aided school with the approval of the Minister acting on the recommendation of a Committee set up by the Minister to determine the psychological and psychomotor aptitudes of the child.

(b) in paragraph (IA) (i) (ii) by deleting the words,(IA) appearing at the beginning of the paragraph and them by words "(d); by deleting the words "officer of his Minister" and replacing them by the words "officer of his Ministry or to any Committee set up under subparagraph (c)".
