The renovation and construction of Collingswood Veterinary Hospital is a very interesting story about finding the best, most responsible contractor to build your veterinary hospital. The former hospital was 2,300 sq. ft., and the new hospital (4,400sq. ft.) was constructed around the existing while the existing was carefully demolished, and day to day hospital operations continued during the process. Minor surgical procedures and prep for major surgery happening on one side of the plastic sheeting, and the plumbers on the other side with jackhammers hammering and dust flying. The General Contractor, two months into the construction was being investigated by the IRS for non payment of taxes, he was relieved of duty. The owner, Dr. Calolyn Self, and the business manager, Diane Vento continued on as the general contractor with help from my office. The project was finished with a few delays, and the new facility looks great. I have to commend Dr. Self and Diane Vento for surviving through a very difficult 18 months.
