Todd Selig Town Administrator Town Hall, 15 Newmarket Road Durham, NH 03824 Dear Mr. Selig, This is a request under the New Hampshire Right to Know Law (RSA 91-A). According to the Boston Globes June 24th article titled NH town to receive expenses for Obama visit I am writing to formally request you provide me with all information related to the reported anonymous donation the town is set to receive. This request includes but is not limited to copies of the check(s) received to pay for the extra security detail of Mr. Obama, any wire transfers received to offset costs of the additional security, and/or any other payments made to the town directly or indirectly, from any and all, either anonymous or disclosed donors related to Mr. Barack Obamas visit to Durham, NH on June 25, 2012. I am deeply concerned that some individual(s)/corporation(s)/unknown entity may be attempting to cast undue influence on the town by donating such a significant sum of money. What assurance do the residents have that this individual/entity does not already conduct business in the community, have business pending before the community or is simply attempting to skirt Federal Election Commission (FEC) laws which would preclude this donor from making such a contribution? The people of Durham have a right to know who is funding their government. Pursuant to the guiding statutes, please respond to this request within five (5) days of receipt. If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of appeal procedures available to me under the law.
