Welcome to the past!

SIMPLE PAST. We use SIMPLE PAST when we talk about past events and that have already finished. EX:

She cleaned her house. My brother broke the window. For this tense (Simple past) we will use two types of verbs which are the regular verbs and Irregular verbs.

Lets check how to form the regular verbs. We add ED or just D to the end of a verb to form regular past form. Ex:

Accepted Answered Boiled Borrowed Called Checked

Decided Discovered Ended Entered Filled Fixed

Guarded Guided Hated Helped Improved Invited

Joined jumped Kissed Knocked Learned Looked

When the verbs finishes in a consonant followed by Y, Y changes to I and add ED. Ex. Copy Copied Cry - Cried Marry Married Carry Carried Study - Studied Try Tried

If the verb finishes in a vowel followed by Y, just add ED. Ex. Delay Delayed Destroy Destroyed Enjoy Enjoyed Obey Obeyed Play Played Pray Prayed

This is all for the regular verb, lets move on to the irregular one.

The Irregular verbs change their form and you have to learn them by heart as there is not any rule to form them. Here a box with irregular verbs.

LETS DO AN EXERCISE:
