Cassidy Bradley Larry Neuburger English 102-102 25 June 2012 This film made me very sad throughout.

It was difficult to watch for many reasons; one being my son, Ian. A moment that stuck with me was when it showed the beggar woman walking around holding a baby. How she must have felt knowing she couldnt do much of anything to save the life of her child simply because they were Jewish. It was interesting to see how the Nazis manipulated the German population with something as seemingly innocent as television. It drew up questions of what my own government is capable of doing to its people in order to achieve a certain agenda. I also thought it was very graphic, and I found myself looking away on several occasions. What must the Jews tossing their dead into mass graves have felt to have their humanity taken away in every way possible; demeaned to throwing away their own people? You can see the defeat in their faces, as if they accepted their fate. Thats a strength I dont think I could ever possess. When the film would flash to the survivors you could see how it put them back there for a minute. How they seemed to want to shut it off and return to the freedom of today. I thought this was a very powerful piece and it gave me a lot of perspective on the early part of the holocaust.
