WHAT DOES GLOBAL WARMING MEAN?

Documented historical warming of the Earths surface

It is based upon worldwide temperature records that have been maintained by humans since the 1880s Global warming is the combined result of anthropogenic (human-caused) emissions of greenhouse gases and changes in solar irradiance

THE CAUSES
Electrical pollution is the main cause
Examples:

i. Watching television ii. Using a hair-dryer iii. Riding in a car iv. Heating a meal in the microwave v. Using an air-conditioner vi. Playing a video game vii. Using a dish washer
3

THE EFFECTS
Harsh geographical and climatic changes like: i. Rise in temperature ii. Imbalance between O2 and CO2 iii. Change in rainfall patterns iv. Uncertain intensity and frequency of cyclones v. Melting of glaciers vi. Rise in sea level vii. Higher chances of floods viii. Higher risk of infectious diseases ix. Inundation and saline intrusion x. Depletion of the ozone layer

THE GRIM REALITIES

According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the decade of the 2000s (20002009) was the warmest on record WMO states that in 2009 above-normal temperatures were recorded in most parts of the continents Only North America (United States and Canada) experienced conditions that were cooler than average
