Discover Brazil!
Having now become the 7th economy in the world, Brazil is living in one of the best moments of its History. Discovered and colonized by Portugal, to whom served as a colony up to 1822, Brazil is a country with over than 190 million of habitants that keep as an important cultural mark the syncretism between the European (Portugal), African (slaves) and indigene (native folks) cultures. In its 27 States, the difference of customs, culinary and landscapes compose a peaceful people, known worldwide due to its happiness and pleasure in receiving visitors. However, Carnival, samba and beaches are not all we have to offer. In music, sertanejo, ax, forr, bossa nova, and pop-rock and modas are samples of this cultural diversity. Besides the large seaboard, with over than 5,500 miles, the Pantanal, the Amazon Forest and the big plateaus are symbols of the natural wonders that delight Brazilian and foreign people that cross Brazil in the quest for rest, adventure and gladness. In February, Brazilian prepares on of the biggest popular festivals in the world, the Carnival, maybe in Recife, with the Morning Rooster, in Bahia, with Electric Trios or in Rio de Janeiro, with the Samba School Parade. DeMolay follows this diversity and grows with the same velocity that Brazil does. It is present in all states and in the Federal District. In only six years of administrative reorganization under the Supremo Conselho da Ordem DeMolay para a Repblica Federativa do Brasil SCODRFB over than 23 thousand young Active DeMolays were registered and are part of the daily works of the 430 Chapters in activity. From Cabura Mount to Chu geographic limitations young and adult people work together to develop the culture, promote the social equality and to form leaders in the communities where the Order of DeMolay is inserted. The result of these efforts can be measured with the recognition of the Legislative and Executive in the creation of the National DeMolay Day, celebrated annually in March 18th. We prepared this DeMolay Brazil Magazine Especial Edition for you, members of the International Order of DeMolay who do not share our native language, Portuguese. And our efforts were big so that the magazine could as best as possible. Enjoy the reading and visit our homepage www.demolaybrasil.org.br. We are waiting for you in our National Congress, that happens annually in July or whenever it might be possible. The Order of DeMolay in Brazil will be glad in receive you! Enjoy our magazine!

Beyond samba and the Carnival, Brazil has much more to offer

The future is here

Brazil, the country of the future! The expression created by the Austrian Stefan Zweig in 1941, becomes a real thing day by day in the early years of 21st Century. With a solid economy, Brazil projects itself to be the 7th biggest GDP of the world in 2011, very close to the developed European and North American countries. Brazil is the fifth country in the world in area, after the United States, China, Canada, and Russia. Brazilian people are known due their happy and friendly character, with a cultural diversity originated in its colonization by Portugal that preserved traces of African slaves and indigenes. Its miscegenation could be recognized easily and its 27 States have cultural elements from different parts of the world such as America, Africa, Asia and Europe. Its language is an example of this diversity. Brazilian speaks a Brazilian Portuguese with words originated in Africa, Europe and native language of indigenes. Brazilian music has a lot of rhythms and tribes. In a quick trip along three different regions, a visitor can dance samba, axe and 04

sertanejo and he also can see beaches, hills and forests with beautiful landscapes and an enjoyable weather. The sun is a Brazilian friend and during all the year long it says hello! to Brazilian and visitors. Its most famous city, Rio de Janeiro, is known around the world because its carnival, one of the biggest street parties on the Earth, but other cities are as attractive as Rio. Brazilian people are very friendly and eager to help foreign people to know more about their culture and their country.

From the Beaches to the Amazon

More than 5,500 miles of beaches are perfect places to relax, but in some places, visitors can have a good time with lively an active night life. Copacabana, Porto de Galinhas, Pedra Furada, and Jurer are examples of natural wonders that everybody should visit once in life. The warm seawater invites each visitor to dive and to know about the diversified sea fauna. Visitors can play sea

sports such as surf and enjoy beach volleyball, frisbee and footvolley, a kind of volleyball, but played with the feet instead of hands. In the countryside, hills and big plateaus are a spectacle of pretty landscapes. Chapada dos Veadeiros and Chapada dos Guimaraes are great examples of how Brazilian people are lucky with their Geography. After some hours of constant contact with nature in trails, visitors can contemplate some beautiful and unforgettable views. The last one is the other ecosystem, exclusive of South America, the Pantanal, with migratory birds, deers, jaguars and much more. In the North of Brazil, the Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world, a source of uncountable plants and animals that could be used to discover medicines and one of the most important natural treasures of Earth. Its area extends along Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, French Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.

Music for everybody

Brazilian music has a large diversity of rhythms and a lot of different origins. Samba is the most famous, but Bossa Nova is an example of how Brazilian musicians contributed to diversify music around the world. Besides these styles, young people enjoy rhythms such as forr, sertanejo, ax, pop and rock. In the Northeast of Brazil, June is a period of big parties with forr concerts with thousands of people dancing all night and eating typical food, originated by culinary of people from caatinga, other typical ecosystem of Brazil. Bahia State has a specific kind of music, known as ax, that millions of people enjoy every year at carnival in the streets of Salvador. Its songs produce celebrities such as Ivete Sangalo who recorded a DVD in Madison Square Garden last September. In the Central Region, the most popular rhythm is sertanejo, a music style that is most popular when played by a couple of singers.

Traditional forr songs are played by street musicians in the Northeast

It sounds like the American country music. In Brasilia, D.C., heart of Brazil, legendary rock bands were born, influencing generations of teenagers and youths and keep their success 20 years late and more. On February, Rio de Janeiro is the paradise for people who want to know how to dance samba and go to Sapucai Avenue to Samba Schools Parade. With such diversity, it is impossible to stand still.

Order of DeMolay
The Order of DeMolay arrived in Brazil in 1980 and is an example of how young people can change their communities with more than 23,000 DeMolays who work in 430 Chapters. In 2010 the Supremo Conselho da Ordem DeMolay para a Repblica Federativa do Brasil SCODRFB bought the first headquarters of DeMolay in Brazil since its foundation. This important step was possible thanks the union of Masons, DeMolays and Members of Masonic Family who collaborated with support, money and best wishes.

Involved in a hundreds of voluntary activities, members of Chapters are recognized in the streets as examples of how someone can make the difference and help other people. Because of that, The House of Representatives approved a law that created National Day of DeMolay, celebrated every March 18th. Some Chapters include a part of every meeting to talk about youth interests, local matters, such as health, charity and policies for youth. Important politicians participate in DeMolay events, included National Congress and State Conclaves, as speakers or, sometimes, as participants. In the last representative elections in 2010 some DeMolays tried to be elected to The Federal House of Representatives and in their States, and in the future they expect to be members of Legislature Power. The Supreme Council expects that the Order of DeMolay will become one of the biggest youth organizations working in Brazil in few years. DeMolay is growing very quickly with Masonic support and some Chapters have more than 50 active members. Advisors

are important people to this development and they believe that young boys can change their world and help people. As a country of the future, Brazil invests in its youth and Order of DeMolay is part of this idea. With Dad Frank S. Lands ideas, thousands of Brazilian DeMolays are waiting for your visit to show how they work and how they are doing great jobs to help their communities. Fifa Soccer World Cup 2014 and The Olympics in 2016 will be in Brazil. Two great opportunities to visit this amazing country!

Almost a thousand people attended the Brazilian National DeMolay Congress last year

Head quarters inauguration is an

historic milestone
After Thirty years in Brazilian territory, nally The Order of DeMolay achieves its own headquarter.

Current and Past Brazilian National Grand Masters and special guests attended the Headquarters Grand Opening in December

Three decades have passed leading to this historical moment. In the same month that the Chapter of Rio de Janeiro n 1 completed its 30th anniversary, the Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay to the Federative Republic of Brazil - SCODRFB announced the acquisition of the its first headquarters for the Order in Brazil and located in the Federal District. The National Grand Master signed the property deed in August. During the Grand Opening on December 5th he could not hide the tears or find the words to express all the happiness of that moment. This is a dream come true for those who built the Order of DeMolay since 1980, when the organization arrived in the country, the National Grand Master spoke at the ceremonies that morning. Braga spoke about the hard work and dedication of thousands of Masons and DeMolays who wish to see the DeMolay in Brazil be among one of the best of the world. A dream we see becoming more real every day. Also in attendance from Past Grand Master of DeMolay International Greg Kimberling who stated, Some of you will remember this oc08

casion 50 years from now. When the Order of DeMolay began the Supreme Council in Kansas City they started with a small office, like this one, and now they have a their own Headquarters building. You are writing new history for the Order of DeMolay in Brazil today, commented our guest from DeMolay International.

Word of the Land

The representative of the DeMolay International spoke about the first years of the International Supreme Council, at that time the Office of Frank Sherman Land was the headquarters of the Order of DeMolay in the world. Braga, as well remembered a life passage of the founder, when Land commented on the importance of having a headquarters of their own. Dad Land said that when the first headquarters was inaugurated it was a small Office but it was ours. Today is a great time to repeat his words, for those who believe in this efforts and also for those that doubt that we were capable. We have one of the best DeMolay

organizations in the world, our Grand Master said. The development of the Order of DeMolay in Brazil since 2004 until today is one of the reasons for the presence of the DeMolay International in our Supreme Council. It is a big compliment to be among friends who represent DeMolay International. We are really proud of being here one more time, said Kimberling in July, during the VI National Congress of the Order of DeMolay. As proof of the commitment of the Supreme Council in Brazil, we established the campaign of the 1000x100 Project, released on December of 2009, during the Leaders Meeting that ended with the acquisition of the new headquarters less than a year later. Many didnt believe that acquiring our own headquarters was a dream we could reach. Today, we have a headquarters of our own and the fruit of the labor of everyone that contributed with the campaign, either through the nominal donations or even from the active DeMolay that acquired a 30 year pin. We offer our great thanks to all those who believed, Braga affirmed.

1000x100 Project
An encouraging initiative to arrange donors was introduced to the State Executive Officers and State Master Councilors that were part of the Leaders Meeting in 2009 which took place in Brasilia. With the help of Chapters, State Grand Councils, Masonic Organizations, Jobs Daughters, Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star Chapters, Companies and Individuals had their names inscribed on our Dedication Plaque revealed at the Headquarters as an historic memory for futures generation. Each of them contributed with a donation and some cases contributed with more than one donation, according with the Project coordinator, Jos Pereira Brito, who is the Past Executive Officer of the Federal District. The moment was unforgettable for him. Brito believe the moment will be unique. I was with Cal (Carlos Eduardo Braga, National Grand Master) and Karate (Ederson Velasquez, second in command) and their work was incredible. We took a big step, but a stronger step is the union and support that the Order has today. When we sign the property deed, the happiness on the faces of everyone that were part of the Project was a site to see. Brito affirmed. Besides the nominal donors, the Supreme Council is thankful to the Executive Officers and the Supreme Council of 33th Degree of the Scottish Rite for the Federative Republic of Brazil. These individuals were responsible for selling the 30th year Order of DeMolay pins in all Brazilian States and that significantly contributed to raising the necessary resources for the acquisition of the Headquarters. The Supreme Council of 33th Degree never stopped encouraging the Order of DeMolay in Brazil and was one on the big donors in purchasing the Office. The National Grand Master wants to recognize four individuals for their assistance in making this dream come true. We wouldnt be gathering here today, celebrating this moment without the support of our Advisors, like Dad Brito, who coordinated the campaign to collect resources and follow up the acquisition of the Headquarters. He also watched over the renovation so it would be ready on time for the Leaders Meeting. We proudly recognize Dad Kieling (Luiz Adolar Camargo Kieling, Past Executive Officer of Mato Grosso do Sul State) and Dad Luiz Fer-

nando Torres (Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council 33th Degree) who efforts were indispensable for us to get here. They have believed from the very beginning in our Project. To Greg [Greg Kimberling], our thanks, to know that the Order of DeMolay has a friend like you, said Braga. These four names received special recognition on the Inaugural Plaque as Our special tribute.

Historic Achievement
Since his involvement dating back to1984, Brito considers the acquisition of the Headquarters is the biggest achievement over the last 30 years. Many of the older members share this opinion. The acquisition of our own Headquarters is the consolidation of the work along for 30 years. This is one of the biggest achievements of the Brazilian Order of DeMolay, suggests Jos Chaves Filho, Past Executive Officer of Minas Gerais State, active member since 1990, with the foundation of the Chapter of Arax number 200, in Arax Minas Gerais. O Sovereign Grand Commander, Luiz Fernando Torres, send us a message through Paulo Silveira, representative of the Supreme Council of the 33th Degree, asking to keep up the great work and dont stop. Its a great joy to be part of this dream, but dont stop with this office. Go on. We are certain that future administrations will follow the steps of this two year term of the Supreme Council of Order of DeMolay, said Silveira, bringing up the request of Torres. To the State Master Counselor of Santa Catarina, Vincius Neihues, initiated after the

foundation of the SCODRFB, one of the motives of the success is the commitment of our directors. We are following the value invested by the DeMolays. The transparency of the Supreme Council just makes that the youth that is part of the Order gain trust. We started with this office as the Headquarters, but we are going to accomplish a Headquarters like the one that the DeMolay International has, Niehues believes. Our young men are part of a generation for the Order of DeMolay that got to be part of the decisions of our Supreme Council. Among the treasures that are in the Headquarters, Kimberling, brought a coin from the term of Grand Master Don W. Wright, who presented this same coin to those who established DeMolay in Brazil back in the 1980s. We are very proud of Brazil, that we bring this historic coin to mark the expansion of the Order, to display it here in the Headquarters of your Supreme Council, he said. Representatives of 25 states were part of this important moment for the Brazilian Order of DeMolay. They were witnesses of the success and commitment of the SCODRFB in the development of the works of the Institution in Brazil. The adult leaderships commented that was very emotional to see the acknowledgement of the investments. Its our duty to recognize and give thanks to these great men that contributed for the acquisitions of this Headquarters, concluded Rodrigo Lins, National Master Councilor, the top leader of Active DeMolays in Brazil.

The Supreme Council of 33 Degree Scottish Rite Ancient and Accepted for Federative Republic of Brazil is one of the donors to the Headquarters

VII NCOD, Rio Grande do Sul waits for you!

Tramanda enters the homestretch for the biggest event of the Brazilian DeMolay Order.

It is less than 60 days until the VII National Congress of DeMolay Order CNOD is to begin and the Rio Grande do Sul DeMolays Order is engaged to make the event a great meeting. They look forward to hosting all DeMolays and Freemasons by showing them the history, culture and hospitality of the region. They are looking forward to following in the steps of successful congresses of the past years in other states. The CNOD isnt restricted to DeMolays and Freemasons only, therefore, plans are being made so we can embrace families with tours and specific attractions. Also, tourist packages are being negotiated with companies of the region so the participants can enjoy the beauties of the region before or after the congress. The beautiful city of Tramandai, located at 75 miles from the capital of the state Porto Alegre, is the host of the event. Situated in the North Littoral region of Rio Grande do Sul, the city has one of the most frequented beaches in the state. Every year it receives thousands of tourists from Brazil and foreign countries who are captivated with the beauty

of the water, the fishing, the good buying options, the wonderful restaurants, besides the peculiar gacha hospitality. The county is known as The beachs capital of Rio Grande do Sul, as it receives large amounts of investment in the tourist area, so is one of the most popular places for development, especially for the cities which have such enviable natural attributes. During the year the city has a population of 50,000 habitants but during the Summer time it reaches 200,000 habitants. The local economy is based on tourism and that in high season generates thousands of jobs and attracts investors for the hotel and restaurant industries. This increases the collection of taxes and improves the quality of life for the Tramandai people. There are other big and traditional events which attract tourists during the year, like The National Fish Party which happens in July and is considered one of the biggest events of the country where millions of people go to try the famous dish tainha na brasa. The National Fish Party is organized in The Park of Events of Tramandai, recently inaugurated; in the same place

where the National DeMolay Congress will take place. The CNOD activities that are being planned involve among other things the Supreme Council activities, the installation of new Officers, the installation of our new National Master Councilor. There will be a presentation of cultural dances of the region, and as a high point Dr. Lair Ribeiro (www.lairribeiro.com.br) will make a lecture under the theme Feet on the ground, head up in the stars. The Organizing Committee already promises they will serve a nice barbeque which includes a local drink called chimarro and a local dance called Vaneira so the Congress members can bond fraternally. Your hosts are waiting for all of you to attend the 7th National Congress of the DeMolay to celebrate the achievements of our institution. There is a lot to commemorate and we hope you will attend. Registration is now open, for further information please visit our web site at: www.cnod.demolaybrasil.org.br.

Dear DeMolay family

With great pleasure I address myself to everyone in this first edition of the DeMolay Brazil magazine, in English, because I am in the final stretch of my term as Grand Master of the Supreme Council of DeMolay for the Federative Republic of Brazil and through newsletter I want to share my joy for the major results and achievements in the last few years by our Order in Brazil. Looking a bit into the past we remember the big problems faced by our Brazilian Order of DeMolay, which culminated in the closure of the former Supreme Council of Brazil. During this period we feared that our Order would lose respect once and for all, and that the brothers would be harmed and their dream of participating in this great institution was officially over. For these reasons we do not get tired of thanking DeMolay International, the Grand Lodges in Brazil and the Supreme Council 33rd Degree of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, which once again trusted in the new leaders of the Order, resulting in the Supreme Council of DeMolay to the Federative Republic of Brazil. We would also like to mention the brothers Greg Kimberling, who became a member of our Supreme, a counselor, a great friend and Jeff Kitsmiller, who has always ready to help us in all the difficulties we had in our development. We also thank Past Grand Masters Frank Kell and Fred Welch for their leadership on behalf of our Order in Brazil. We assumed at 2009 the 4th turnover of officers for this new institution and we thank God, with the help of many, it was possible to further enhance our Order. We had the opportunity to create the official magazine and to make the site an effective communication tool, to bring to Brazil , the worlds best literature of DeMolay, published in portuguese; to bring big delegations to the DeMolay International Sessions, and receive the delegations of DeMolay International in our congress with over 1000 in attendance. We have been able through the the Supreme Council to manage the marketing of all the official products of the Order in Brazil. We had the opportunity to work personally to Order in all 27 states of our federation, and in late 2010 we were honored to inaugurate the first headquarters of the Order in Brazilian soil. Our Chapters, Priories, Courts and members grow every day. Yet our institution is booming; leaders are our future successors, the checks and balances are frequent and it is now possible to envision a new generation of real leaders. Im very pleased to present Brother derson Velasquez to DeMolay International as he will likely be elected as the next Grand Master of our Supreme Council on July 30th. Although it has not yet been officially elected, he is the only brother who is a registered competitor with the Grand Secretary. derson is a Senior DeMolay of Mato Grosso do Sul, he knows the Order very well, is a humble person, very intelligent and agile in his thinking. He worked in the past two years as the Deputy Grand Master and is responsible for most of the project success in our management. Im sure that Ederson and his team will bring to DeMolay lots of happiness. Our new leaders will be starting their work by offering free to all members of the Order, the opportunity to perform technical courses at various levels of activities through the website of the Supreme Council and in partnership with the Federal Government. With the blessings of God we become one big family, our youth are more respected by their Adult leaders and the Freemasonry , where many DeMolays are already initiated into Masonry, formed thousands of businessmen, doctors, lawyers, judges, and in all segments of society. We have hundreds of good men involved in politics and we put all our trust in them to build a better country, since our teachings were present in their adult lives. I will conclude the mandate for which I was elected two years ago with the feeling of accomplishment, the satisfaction of not having disappointed the leaders of Brazil who voted and trusted me and my team. I will pass with great satisfaction the post to Brother derson who will be a great leader for our Order bringing even more positive results than I had the opportunity to do. May God be with each of you and as we live within the precepts of our Order and make each day based upon the plans of Frank S. Land we will then in build better men and better citizens for humanity. Shall we be worthy to receive the praise of kind men living: For God, For Country and For DeMolay! Fraternally,

Exultant Love
I start my words extolling the love. It is the secret of life. It is the rule that assumes the other ones. In Pauls first epistle to the Corinthians, it is written: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love I am nothing. There is the development of the text and the Apostle ends it: And now, these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. In a past, not so long ago, Frank Sherman Land launched in the hearts of nine boys a seed of love to the cause of DeMolay. Nothing would have worked if they continued their efforts without love. We are responsible for everything that happens in this world. With the love and the endeavor of our will, we might change our destiny and the destiny of many people. In the very beginning of our lives, we learned in school that when we take a prism and make a sunbeam pass through it, this sunbeam will divide itself in seven colors, forming a rainbow. Frank Land tried to do the same with the love to the Order of DeMolay and inspired the Filial Love, Reverence for Sacred Things, Courtesy, Comradeship, Fidelity, Cleanness and Patriotism. Virtues that we often heard people talking about. Virtues we can practice wherever and whenever in our lives. Many love stories happened since 1919 to these days were told us. Those were moments lived intensely, letting records in the pages of the book of existence of the Order of DeMolay. I discovered the Order of DeMolay, in the decade of 1990, when I was initiated in the International Order of Jobs Daughters and, lately when I married Carlos Eduardo, when through his love, I fell in love for the cause of DeMolay and I have been trying to disseminate it all this time. Shakespeare had a beauty intuition when he said that the human being is glass essence. This metaphor reminds us the necessity of care. We break down easily. But it is true that the more united the stronger we will be. Frank Land perceived at that opportunity the importance of valuing youth, mainly with noble principles that could lead them to a virtuous life. I noted that a net of kind adults can bring a richer and varied world to young men, a world that inspires their curiosity, that can awaken exciting possibilities and give them the advantage of knowing that other adults, besides their parents, trust in them. Since everyone has unique talents and perspectives to offer, the more adults are actively involved in the lives of our young men the better for them, because they will grow up sharing their world with people of many colors and customs, in an atmosphere of courtesy, consideration and tolerance to the individual differences. The Grand Masters of all religions have always agreed that with little daily deeds of goodness we print our mark on the school of life. We must offer our young men a world where there is tolerance and praise, where they receive our acceptance, approval and gratefulness. A world where they might share honesty and wait for justice, kindness and consideration in return. A world like this might make a significant difference to them and to the quality of life of everybody around them. After all, they are our young men, the young men of our country and the young men of our world. May they be part of a future that, little by little, eliminate the fear, the starvation, the prejudice and the intolerance, a future that accepts each person in our planet in the family of humanity. Let us prepare the way so that our young men might see the world under the same light, so that they consider and contribute to make it a good place to live in. I thank you deeply the care and attention that every one of you and your relatives showed to my husband and to our family. During these two years of work that Carlos Eduardo has been presiding over our Supreme Council, I have had the satisfaction of share our lives with every one of you; I have been present in all DeMolay events with my simple remembrances and texts of motivation and even personally in many others. I am sure that the objective of your Brazilian DeMolay leaders will be carried out, for in your hands it is guarded a brilliant future for this society. 15

solidarity,
a noble feeling
Three decades have passed since our beloved Order of DeMolay has come to Brazil and through it Freemasonry has been offering its contribution to the development of our great Order. Although we are conscious that not all Brothers contribute we think it is important to recognize those organizations who have made a great difference in the future of our Great Order. We are talking about the Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for the Federative Republic of Brazil SCREAA. The Sovereign Grand Commander Brother Luiz Fernando Rodrigues Torres was the first Chairman of the Advisory Council of Rio de Janiero Chapter when it was founded 30 years ago. He also served as its first Junior Councilor. We are also glad to recognize the Brazilian Confederation of Symbolic Freemasonry CMSB who helped us find our way these past seven years by working with DeMolay International in gaining our ground to a rebirth of DeMolay once again. Both these organizations provided us with magnificent deeds and have given to us the true belief in the future of our youth. These two institutions, each in its own way, have provided opportunity for each of our youth organizations to succeed. There are two words that represent us when we express ourselves: Solidarity and Generosity. In order to be Freemasons in the broadest sense, we must always exercise Solidarity. This word is characterized each time a brother is offered the shoulder of assistance from another brother. Inside this context we exalt the invaluable help to the Order of DeMolay which we have always received from Brother Torres dating back to the inception of DeMolay in Brazil. His great contributions are too numerous to list but recent acts include the publication of our National DeMolay Magazine and the help toward reaching the goal of getting our own National Headquarters. Without his help, which is characterized by his extraordinary human behavior, the achievements we have reached in DeMolay would have never been realized. We exalt those deeds of our beloved Brother Luiz Fernando in these present days 17 along with our dear Brother Wilson Filomeno from his efforts in 2004. We do it supported by the success of the Order of DeMolay in our State Pernambuco where DeMolay was established back in 1983. We do it in association with the support we receive from Freemasonry who has committed its members and its resources to our success. Finally, we acknowledge that DeMolay Chapters in Brazil East to West and North to South who have provided a good message to the youth of Brazil and has roused the interest of our Non-Masonic friends to become Freemasons. We thank the Great Architect of the Universe who continues to enlighten people who value the fine work which results from promoting the youth of our country.

National Master Councilors Ofce is at full steam!

Since the leaders of the Term 2010/2011 assumed the National Master Councilors Office in the 6th National Congress of the Order of DeMolay in Brazil, held in Braslia, Capital of the Nation, they are working at full steam to attend all Brazilian DeMolays, with the launching of new projects for the Chapters. The National Master Councilors Office is formed by the National Master Councilor and the Deputy National Master Councilor and a team dedicated to link the State Master Councilors Offices and the Supreme Council. Our daily work is in behalf of the Order of DeMolay in Brazil, and we are always in the quest for improvement and evolution, Luis Fernando Saueia, Deputy National Master Councilor stated. Always developing projects that aim to help Chapters in the achievement of their objectives and in the accomplishment of the Obligatory Days, the National Master Councilors Office is based in a very famous Frank Lands statement, The beginning is the most important. The works of this term started just a week after the Installation with the release of the edict of the National Reference Certificate NRC that praises the best Chapters in Brazil annually . One of the requirements for receiving the prize is to fulfill all the Obligatory Days during the year. Just after the releasing of the NRC, they released the Philanthropic Marathon, with the motto This is not a race of demagogy, but a marathon of solidarity. This project aims to stimulate Chapters to benefit themselves more frequently with that branch of DeMolay. One of the most awaited projects is the Benchmarking e-Book, released online, so that all DeMolays in Brazil will be able to enter the website of SCODRFB and download various projects and implant them in their Chapters. This e-book has as objective to disseminate the best projects in Brazil to other States, the DNMC comments. The month of July is marked as the D 18

Month of the Annual Theme, the month when the Order of DeMolay, in association with the International Order of Jobs Daughters, is going to work in the whole country disseminating the annual theme of the Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay for the Federative Republic of Brazil: Say No to Bullying and Child Abuse, Educate for peace. This partnership was sealed between the National Master Councilor, Bro. Rodrigo Lins, and the Miss International Jobs Daughters, Ms. Aline Busnardo. It will be a great opportunity to work together with the Jobs Daughters. These organizations share the same Temple several times and

work together for only few times, I hope this national level work may permit a bigger approximation between these two institutions, Lins suggested. The National Master Councilors Office 2010/2011 is always available for all DeMolays. We are always accessible since the beginning of our term and we will continue until the end, Saueia indicates. We wait for the contribution of all State Offices and all Brazilian DeMolays in order that the Order of DeMolay can be developed in our country even more, the NMC said.
