Punching shear

Load assessment of the offshore wind turbine substructure including the punching shear effect

Abstract

Abstract
As a foundation of offshore wind turbine, jacket substructure is an attractive solution in water depths of about 20m to 50m for offshore wind turbines. Based on the
statistical measured offshore environmental condition at water depth of 33m, designed jacket substructure's ultimate load was calculated by GH-Bladed commercial code.
The API RP2A-WSD for checking the adequacy of tubular members gives formulations for loads acting alone and loads acting in combination. The derived ultimate load
was checked with API RP2A-WSD with respect to buckling and punching shear effect.
