Calgary The Canadian Hero Fund is pleased to announce that it provided a member of the Armed Forces with tickets

s to UFC 149 in Calgary on Saturday, July 21st 2012, working in partnership with Ultimate Fighting Championship to give back to those who are serving in uniform. The pair of tickets was offered to Hero Fund by UFC Canada for use in support of its mandate, and the organization chose a deserving soldier to provide the tickets to with the assistance of General Natyncyk. Everyone at Hero Fund is delighted that we were able to thank a deserving soldier for their service with these tickets, said Michael Ball, Executive Director of Hero Fund. Its a great step to build relationships with those in active service and the UFC, which has been an important supporter of ours. I am appreciative to the Canadian Hero Fund for the tickets to UFC 149. The tickets were a welcomed surprise and the night was great, said Sgt Melcher, the recipient of Hero Funds tickets. Alberta talk show host Dave Rutherford hosted the Funds Chairman and President Timothy Peters on airwaves in the run-up to the event to discuss UFC 149 and Hero Funds on-going work, allowing Hero Funds message to reach thousands of Albertans. The event took place before 16,089 fans in Calgarys Scotiabank Saddledome. UFC returns to Canada on September 22nd, for UFC 152 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
