Dodge Ball - or Baw as we call it in Glasgow - comes to the city on Saturday, August 25 at the Barras Art & Design Centre (BAaD). This is the inaugural Kerry Cup Dodge Baw tournament. A fun event all about meeting up with friends, having a bit of a runabout, enjoying a laugh and working together as a team. Todays event is dedicated to our friend Kerry Tobin, who passed away earlier this month at the age of 35. Kerry suffered from melanoma. This event is about fun, but with a serious side - we want to raise money and also awareness of skin cancer in Scotland.

Kerry is the inspiration for everything we do today. Shamefully taken from us earlier this month at the tender age of only 35, Kerry touched the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Her smile and passion for life left an indelible mark on every person she touched. Friends, relations, work colleagues - we all loved her and loved spending time with her. Kerry was passionate about everything she cared for - her mates, her family, her wee dog Charlie and her loving husband Jim. Even in her last painful months her first thoughts were always for others, never for herself. The memories may fade with the passing of time but our love for our inspirational friend will never waver.

We are looking for teams to join in the fun. Each team will consist of seven members. Dodge Ball rules state that each team should have a minimun of two female members. If you have a team and cant get two girls, then talk to us.. bribe us.. maybe we can help you out. The entry fee for each team is 70. Thats a tenner a head. That 10 gets you a whole day of fun and the chance to win the first Dodge Baw trophy in Glasgow. The Kerry Cup. Forget an Olympic Gold medal - Chris Hoy would much rather win the inaugural Kerry Cup. Teams have to be submitted by Friday, August 17. All money has to be paid in full to register your team.

Dont know the rules? Dont worry, neither do we. Weve all seen the film.. so if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball. Rules will be given out to teams when they register. We are under the guidence of Dodge Ball UK. They will be the referees and time keepers of the tournament. They will keep everyone - including us right. The game is simple and the whole point of the day is to have fun. May the best team win. And remember dont dodge us... join us.

Enjoy the fun, have a laugh, maybe even win todays competition. But today is also about raising as much cash as we can for vital cancer charity work. Any donation will be kindly accepted before, during and after the event. If you or your company would like to sponsor the event then please get in touch - phone, email, Facebook. You name it, well take your pledge. We promise to get your logo on posters and flyers as well as the match day t-shirts. Or if you want to purchase a courtside banner these are available for 70 and its yours to keep after the event.

There will also be a raffle on the day after the event. Firstly we are looking for prizes. If you wish to donate a prize please get in touch with your contact details. Tickets will cost 1. A range of prizes will be on offer with a list available on the day of the tournament. You dont have to be at the event to buy a raffle ticket. If you wish to buy some raffle tickets please get in touch and we can get your details. Also if you wish to sell tickets at your place of work or purchase tickets for friends or family please get in touch and we can get tickets to you.

Winning is always good. However, today is about remembering friends but at the same time having a giggle. We look forward to presenting the winners with the Kerry Cup. After the Dodging there will be a prize raffle followed by live music with four bands performing acoustic sets at BAaD Sessions. Everyone who attends Dodge Baw will receive a coloured wrist band that includes free entry to the band night. If you cant make Dodge Baw then the entry fee for the live music event will be 3.

Our aim is to raise money for two charities connected with skin cancer. Our first benefactor will be the MASScot in Glasgow who help and care for skin cancer patients. The Tommy Burns Cancer Trust is our other designated charity. Kerry and Tommy are worlds apart but both shared a passion for football, were loved by their family and friends and touched so many people with their infectious smile and love of life.
