INSTRUCTIONS TO REGISTER ON THE PLACEMENT PORTAL Placement Portal: https://auto.iitg.ernet.in/placement/index.jsp 1) Login with your webmail IDs and passwords.

2) Click on the Edit Registration Details Tab on the left. 3) There are three pages you have to fill out i) General Info ii) Academic Details iii) Choice Sheet 4) To save the data that you have entered you may click on the SUBMIT button and you may edit the entered data by logging in later. CLICK on the Final Submit Button only after you are sure that the data you have entered is final AS AFTER YOU HAVE CLICKED THIS BUTTON YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO CHANGE ANY DATA. 5) Once you have filled in all the three pages and have clicked the final submit button, you will get to view the print preview of the registration form. 6) Take a back-to-back print-out of the form, and affix one recent passport size photo of you at the place allocated for a photo on the form. 7) Get the print-out of the form verified by your department/branchs Placement Representative and finally get it counter-signed by your Departments Faculty in-Charge for Placements. 8) After this submit the original copy of the form to the Placement Cell and a photo-copy to your departments Placement Representative. (PLEASE DO THIS STRICTLY BEFORE THE STIPULATED LAST DATE FOR THE FORM SUBMISSION). 9) Do not Upload your CVs using the Upload CV tab. You shall be notified when you are required to do so. 10) The functionalities of the other tabs shall be explained to you as we get closer to the placement session.

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING OUT THE THREE PAGES: PAGE 1- GENERAL INFO Fill up all the details that have been asked. 1) In the JEE/GATE/JAM/CEED Rank field, mention your rank (Category Rank) PAGE 2- ACADEMIC DETAILS 1) Fill the Board/Institution Column in this format Board/Institute, City. Eg: ICSE/The Bishops School, Pune. 2) In the Class/Division : If the board that you studied in has set criteria for classes/divisions use that. If it does not then use the following:

1 (>60%) else 2. 3) For PGs, please mention your undergraduate CPI/Final % whichever was applicable at your previous place of study where you did your bachelors at. 4) The preferences that you mention in the preferred job field do not have a bearing on the companies you shall be eligible for during placements. This is just for the Placement Cells own record about our students preferences of various sectors. 5) In the Dream Company Field fill out the names of two dream companies in the following format: Company 1, Company 2 Note: The Dream Company rule is applicable only for people with PPOs. For the other candidates, this piece of information is being asked for by the placement cell for its record on student preferences. Dream Company Rule: If a person with a PPO chooses to hold on to his or her received offer he or she shall be allowed to sit for only one out of the two dream companies, a decision he or she must take before or during the placement session. The companies that you mention here must be from the list of companies that visited the campus last year. (Refer to: http://www.iitg.ernet.in/placement/recruiters.html) (In case the company that you have specified does not the visit the campus or a new company previously unlisted visits the campus and you wish to name that as your dream company you may change this field at a later date before the placement session begins by contacting the placement cell.) PAGE-3 CHOICE SHEET Fill out the names of five of your preferred companies (apart from your dream companies) in order of preference (Highest to Lowest). Names of the companies are to be selected from the list of companies that visited the campus last year. This list of preferences is again just for the placement cells record and has no bearing on your eligibility for various companies during the placement session.
