20/20 GOOD MORNING AMERICA NIGHTLINE THIS WEEK WHAT WOULD YOU DO WORLD NEWS WORLD NEWS NOW (@devindwyer/Twitter) WORLD NEWS WITH DIANE SAWYER

SIOUX CITY, Iowa President Obama received a less than warm welcome and a warning upon arrival at the airport here on the second stop of his Iowa visit, which was aimed at recapturing some of the magic the state gave his run to the White House in 2008. Greeting Air Force One as it touched down under sunny skies and sultry heat wasahand-painted banner draped across the top of an airplane hangar that reads, Obama Welcome to SUX We Did Build This.SUXis the airport code for Sioux City. The message appeared to be a response President Obamas you didnt build thatremark from a July campaign rally, when he was trying to explain that government not businesses constructed public infrastructure on which the economy relies. Republicans have used the four words to attack Obama as out of touch with the realities of owning and operating a small business. The banner is a reminder that this part of the state remains hotly contested turf for both Obama and his Republican rival Mitt Romney, just as the campaign enters the home stretch. Sioux City, which sits on the border with Nebraska in the northwest corner of the state, is territory Obama lost in 2008 to Sen. John McCain, even though hewonthestateoverall.Obamawon49percentofthevoteheretoMcCains 50 percent, a difference of just 500 votes. Obama also won the Iowa caucuses, an early confirmation that his message was resonating with Democrats. This time around, the presidents campaign believes it can turn the Sioux City region blue by appealing to middle class values and highlighting the administrations record of tax cuts for small businesses and families. We know the President has strong support in Sioux City so it was important to the him to spend time visiting with familiar faces and energizing people at

this pivotal time leading up to election day, said Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki. Polls show Iowa, which Obama won handily four years ago carrying 54 percent of the vote, is up for grabs in November. Obama and Romney have been locked in a dead heat since early this year. Iowa, this is our first stop on the road to our convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. But there was a reason for me to begin the journey right here in Iowa, where it first began more than four years ago,Obama told a crowd of 10,000 in Urbandale, Iowa, earlier in the day. Because it was you, Iowa, who kept us going when the pundits were writing us off,he said. And it will be you, Iowa, who choose the path we take from here. Psaki said the banner was not visible from the presidential motorcade. There were no identifying markers on the hangar or the banner to suggest who made it, and a call to the Woodbury County GOP was not immediately returned. The people of Iowa are focused on who is going to be a fighter for them in the White House, not on out of context attacks,Psaki said. The president is on the first of a four-day tour through battleground states, leading up to his formal nomination for the presidency at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday. He spends Sunday rallying supporters in Boulder, Colo. This post has been updated.

You know what spilled out of Obamas mouth was less important than what spilled out of his brain.

Sadly it proves the old adage, you can fool some of the people some of the time and you can fool dimwits who believe Republican propaganda anytime. President Obama did not tell people they didnt build their own businesses! Still the Republicans carry on the lie. President Obama said the overall public infrastructure was built by many people over time and that we all benefit from it, including businesses.

Yes, and the Republican platform is so weak, they had to use that lie as one of their convention themes.

POSTED BY: TRINAC | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 7:49 PM 7:49 PM

Why is his headlining ABCnews.com? The graphic just says Obama SUXand it reads Iowans message to Obamaas if this was some Iowa approved message and not just a few tea bags getting off together and then painting something.

POSTED BY: DAVID | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 7:55 PM 7:55 PM

Does anyone else think Obama would want that one back?

POSTED BY: NEWCOUNTRYMAN | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 7:55 PM 7:55 PM

Way to go Iowait is time for Mr Obama to be returned to the private sector so he can begin to grasp how much hard work goes into building a business. This election we need to elect a business man to correct all the mistakes Obama /Democrats have made. Did you know Harry Reids Democratically controlled Senate has not passed a budget in over 3 years even though it is required by law that they pass one!!!! The Democrats are acting like teenagers gone wild- spending irresponsibly, lying, partying at taxpayers expense and generally having a free for all while our country suffers!! It is time to send the Democrats home and let Romney/ Ryan fix this mess!!

POSTED BY: WHATHAPPENED016 | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 7:56 PM 7:56 PM

The RNC convention was goose-bump inspirational. I wonder if there will be anything inspirational coming out of the DNC convention. Executing babies in the womb, paying for Flukes trojans, and extorting tax $$$ to pay for the lazy class doesnt seem inspirational to me.

POSTED BY: REDRYDER | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 8:02 PM 8:02 PM

Anyone else find it hilarious that this airport was built with and maintained by tax dollars?

POSTED BY: RAIN | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 8:03 PM 8:03 PM

Gotta love the Republicans. I suppose that no government funds went into the construction and operation of that airport or the roads that surround it,

POSTED BY: TRUFFLEMAN2340 | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 8:03 PM 8:03 PM

SUXis the airport code for Sioux City. Keep trying to distort what POTUS said. You didnt build it is what he meant. He is a big goverment guy and when he talks without a teleprompter the truth always come out. Lets not forget we all pay the taxes that built public infrastructure and people with small businesses pay more than most.

POSTED BY: GRIFF | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 8:05 PM 8:05 PM

Did you know Harry Reids Democratically controlled Senate has not passed a budget in over 3 years even though it is required by law that they pass one!!!! Posted by: whathappened016 | September 1, 2012, 7:56 pm 7:56 pm There was no point in the Democrats in the Senate putting forward a budget, nor letting the Presidents budget come forward for discussion. The Republicans had made it quite clear they would not cooperate or negotiate with the Democrats, only bluster and posture for political points. For fiscal 1999, 2005 and 2007, the Republican House and Republican Senate failed to reconcile their different bills and pass a compromise measure. In these latter three cases, the Republicans were in the majority in BOTH chambers of Congress and failed to pass a budget. So even while the Republicans had the majority in Congress and the House, they couldnt even successfully negotiate with EACH OTHER to compromise on a budget never mind working with the Democrats. The Ryan budget put forward was so insubstantial it couldnt even be scored by the Congressional Budget Office

The RNC convention was goose-bump inspirational. Posted by: redryder | September 1, 2012, 8:02 pm 8:02 pm Not for ordinary voters it wasnt. Any bump in polls Romney might have received is quickly receding. What people saw was too much lies and hollow boasting.

It is a blatant lie ..Obama never said businesses didnt build this.List all the lies that came out of the convention..Ryan was supposed to be talking about his medicare reforms and budget hawkish profile instead he is being demeanized by romney campaign as a side kick to propagate lies to shore the southern base..what a pity??If Romney lose,Ryan can shelve his presedential ambitions for another decade.Poor guy doesnt realize that how much his image will be tarnished if this run for white house didnt work in November!!

Why do I get the feeling that paying tax is a bad thing. And that government building roads, bridges, airports, providing police, and the military is not appreciated by some people. You know why Greeces economy collapsed. The rich moved their money out of the country and found ways to pay almost no tax. The middle class followed their example so after a while the economy collapsed.

hahah obamas own words are a lie. his entire meaning ws clear, as was his condescending attitude and mockery of business. He went on and on about how smart business owners thought they were etc. Obama was the one who took words out of context 1st and then these libnuts whine when it happens to them. Politicians are supposed to be good with words but obama is an Amateur. Read the new book at the top of the ny times best selling list THE AMATEUR, by Edward Klein. POSTED BY: ABRAHAM LINCOLN1 | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 8:40 PM 8:40 PM

MORONS. Did business build the airport without government help? Is business alone paying for private airport security? Is business alone paying for all the interstate highways and public roads? NO! How many sports arenas are build without local government funding? NONE! These things are paid for collectively through TAXES. Republicans refuse to pay taxes. They clamor for the benefits of public funding theyre just too cheap to pay for them. Republicans are idiots of the highest order.

POSTED BY: CATHIE | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 8:48 PM 8:48 PM

The following is a narrative taken from a 2008 Sunday morning televised Meet The Press. From Sundays 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, Televised Meet the Pressthe THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag. General Bill GannUSAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesnt follow protocol when the National Anthem is

played. The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171 During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, Stand and Face It. NOW GET THIS !!Senator Obama replied: As Ive said about the flag pin, I dont want to be perceived as taking sides. There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression..The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing. (ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???) Obama continued: The National Anthem should be swappedfor something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song Id Like To Teach the World To Sing. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as redesignour Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. Its my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of warring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations ofIslam, an unfair injusticewhich is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past. Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Countrys First black Family. Indeed,CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America Yes, you read it right. I, for one, am speechless!!! Dale Lindsborg , Washington Post

I am really concerned of this message that we are sending (through the internet) around the world? With all the potential Nukes in the Middle East and the instability in Afghanistan, we must be united! I believe our political infighting is making our nations stand around the world much weaker! With our troops around the world in harms way, we must not use hate speech. This makes our President weak. For example, I believe hate is like a cancer, you have no idea where it will show up. It can metastasize even distant cells. This may explain how this cancer spreads in seemingly no pattern. We have todays internet and this picture is being viewed around the world. This hate message will show up somewhere and it will. Could it be in Afghanistan or even within this country. We must, as a nation, stop our political infighting;this makes our nation weak. With all the potential Nukes in the Middle East and the instability in Afghanistan; this hate message will show up. As an Iowan, I am appalled with this message. The whole world can see this, by both friends and foes alike. And we must be prepared for the consequences of this irresponsible message, Nukes and all.

POSTED BY: ABRAHAM LINCOLN1 | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 9:30 PM 9:30 PM

POSTED BY: SUMI | SEPTEMBER 1, 2012, 9:43 PM 9:43 PM

The people who made the banner are probably working for the Government That the republicans misinterpret what Obama said and leave out the meat of the statementthat no man is an island, that buildings needs roads and people and sometimes Government assistanceHELP in other words. The most ENTITLED people in the USA are the rich white guys who want to build more wealth on the backs of Americans, while buying the republican party to sign off deregulation and tax cuts WELFARE for the rich. How is it that so many Americans fell asleep for 8 years of Bush. The Bush legacy is going to be remembered by many other countries than your own. we are feeling those ripple effects and so will the USA for decades. and yet you still embrace Bush/Romney tax cuts for the rich and fiscal irresponsibility! Utterly amazing that Fox News can hypnotize the masses when all people need to do is read their agenda and look to see they have no way to pay for it. Bush 3 with Romney. I hope Iowans prove that not all in their state are so easily swayed by the false platitudes of the Republicans.

Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If youve got a business YOU DIDNT BUILT THAT. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didnt get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet... Mister billionaire, private sector can solve all your problems, I give millions to charity and on and on. And he says, call the government for help. (Nevermind the fact that she doesnt have a home). Lets try this again. There is over $2 trillion setting on the sidelines which businesses, big and small, refuse to invest

simply because they do NOT know what the plans of this administration entail, especially taxes and regulations. So, Romney already has a head start in freeing up this moneythus more jobs. Second, from the Labor Depts statisticsthru the end of 2011, 50% of those who actually found jobs took a pay cut and 33% of that 50% took a pay cut of 20% or more. Forget about keeping benefits. I doubt those stats have changed much in 2012. So, bottom line, trillions setting on the sidelines and the bragging of jobs picking up means at least 50% of those jobs saw pay cuts. Why would businesses release the trillions if OB is re-elected? What is their incentive?

Americans honored Neil Armstrong this week for his achievement, being the first man on the moon. Americans honored Neil Armstrong this week for his achievement, being the first man on the moon. Even Neil Armstrong could have told Americans that his achievement would not have been possible without the combined efforts of government and taxpayers. Individual rights are fine up to a certain level. But it takes teamwork and concerted effort to achieve the really big accomplishments. Romney will get as many votes as money can buy, which is a sad and scary thing, but a real possibility. The situation in Wisconsin with Walker proves that money does buy elections. Waaaa But this wasnt much of a concern 4 years ago when Oblamer outspent McCain by 3-to-1.

Bigotry has been the message. And, it is very, very sad to see. I can understand signs disagreeing with policy. I can even understand signs which protest wars in strong language, as happened with Lyndon Johnson (use of the word murderer and such). And, I will defend these people to post their signs, because freedom of speech is every Americans right. It is clear to me, that if this President, a great man statesman, whether you agree with his policies or not, has been attached using language that clearly directly or indirectly is abased exactly on his being a man of color. It sickens me. To those who believe this is appropriate, you are wrong. You move righteous people to vote for the President, campaign harder, give more money, every time you display your bigotry.

Romney and his surrogates go after a few select words spoken by the President, take them out of context, rearrange them, twist them, and form a new meaning that will suit their purpose. Then they start feeding this crap to the electorate. There is a large portion of the electorate that is simply intellectually inane, simply stupid, and so they buy this crap. Let me try to break this down for you: President Obama said that there are roads and bridgesif you own a business, then you did not build that. Here is what the President meant: The word thatin the Presidents passage, refers to roads and bridgesand not to business, signifying that the government has an important role to play in making businesses flourish. The precise point of the speech Obama made about governments role in infrastructure that allows business to conduct commerce. For Obama to give that speech was not wise because the alleged liberal media just edited the speech and ran with it. Addditionally Obamas cabinet and WH staff consists of ZERO people who have started or run a business. And of course, Obama rarely refers to people who have done very well in the private sector as successful or as those who did well thru hard work and determination. No, usually its rich, fat cat, jet-setter, not paying their fair share.. For some reason, the guy has a serious problem with those who dont need Big Brother govt to fend for themselves.

There are dozens of books written by either side. Maybe you should add Do Not Ask What Good We Do by Robert Draper, to your library. Its about a secret meeting of Republicans on the night of President Obamas inauguration, when they agreed to obstruct any bill that the president brought forth. This book isnt a fantasy like the ones you mentioned. It is so sad that so many believe everything they hear from a single new source. One that repeatedly lies to the people. As a child, I learned there were countries with only state run news, and I was sad for those people. They didnt know they were being lied to. In American, people choose to be uninformed, as they are too lazy, and too brainwashed, to realize they are being lied to all so the few wealthiest groups can manipulate these poor people and get them to vote for their selfish agenda. First, they had to convince these folks that all media lies except them. Have any of you ever thought how all the media in most of the world can tell the same lies, and only FOX gets it correct? Really?! Saddens me, as a former Republican. President Obama did not say you didnt build your own business. He said it took many people-teachers, govt support in the form of loans, infra-structure, etc. Yes, ultimately, the people do pay for those things, but no individual did He is correct we are in this together, and we need to work as a team a nation. Selfishness and refusal to compromise did not build this great nation.

Romneys plan is to cut taxes for the rich and deregulate everything, including the banking industry. Yes, we all know deregulating the banks always leads to huge problems like we saw happen in 2008 with banks going under around the world and then the resultant economic collapses. And we know that cutting taxes on the rich never grows jobs, it just grows the rich folks bank accounts and grows the national debt. But that is Romneys plan, backed by his top 5 donorswhich are all banks and investment firms!

Almost without exception, the comments here from the critics of Obama are: * pushing wholly false claims. * wildly distortive * just plain idiotic Now, my comment could and will be dismissed by some as more partisanship. But I truly do not believe that it is. If the comments were credible, if the comments from the critics made valid points, I would give them credit. But they do not. One critic repeats the hoax about Obama comment regarding the American Flag. Another dishonestly distorts the vote on an Obama budget making it seem as if Democrats opposed Obama. ( they did not. They voted unanimously against the bill for procedural reasons. The fact that the vote was unanimous is testament to this. Congress almost NEVER votes in unanimity for anything. ) Then we get the lame belittlement about use of teleprompters. ( as if Obama is the first to use one, as if Obama cannot speak without one. ). Its troubling how misinformed, childish, and idiotic these critics are. Be it a function of Fox News propaganda or emotions subconsciously heightened as a result of Obamas otherness, it is troubling for America. In 2008 when the Democrats ran on the claim that the economy was getting worse, that was an accurate claim. But in this election the Republicans are running on a falsehood, namely that the economy is either worse or no better. It is false. ( and Romney and the Republicans know this as evidenced by the manner in which they flip back and forth between a narrative of no successand too little success. ) Its not surprising that a political party would use distortion and would push a falsehood. What is surprising is just how many people have bought into it. More disturbing is the manner in which the GOP has successfully turned American against American in these times of difficult recovery, causing resentment and contempt for some mythical takerclass and causing Americans to have disdain if not hate for their fellow Americans. They have actually convinced many that the problemis their fellow Americans.and the problem is not runaway healthcare costs, recklessness on the part of financial capitalists, and a government that has been largely bought off to do the bidding of private sector businesses who benefit from manipulation of the tax code, regulation inhibiting free competition, and government spending.

When Mitt Romney ran for Governor of Massachusetts promising more jobs, decreased debt, and smaller government. Heres what we got instead: 1) Jobs: 47th out of 50 states in job creation 2) Taxes and fees: Increased more than $750 million per year 3) Long-term debt: Increased more than $2.6 billion Job creation fell from 37th to 47th during Romneys term compared to the previous term: 1998-2002 = 37th 2002-2006 = 47th 4) A drop of 10 places in four years. What were 48, 49, and 50, you ask? Ohio, Michigan, and Louisiana (after Katrina!). 5) During his 4-year term, Romney only increased the number of jobs by 1% compared to 5% for the rest of the nation. 6) Between 2002-2006, the number of people working in Mass declined by 8,500 people, the only state in America to actually lose jobs. The rest of the country added 8 million jobs. 7) Romney lost 14% of the manufacturing jobs in the state, including 40,000 high paying manufacturing jobs. _______________________________________________ When Romney left office, his job approval rating was hovering somewhere around 30%.

I think sites like this have their staffers immediately enter positive comments so that the first few in the thread are complementary, before the real people have their say.

Democrat against Obama, you comment is one big fat lie. Shame on you for not fact checking before posting such a load of hogwash. Do you read any news but Faux? Romney is planning on giving tax breaks to the wealthiest, he has said it numerous times! Dont you even listen to the speeches he gives? Romneys plan will raise taxes on the middle class according to non-partisan sources. Not so hard to understand when he cuts taxes on the rich, somebody has to make up the difference. And he will set the country back by ending regulations on many industries. From pollution concerns to the banks once again causing runaway economic problems, that is what you get when you let industry regulate itself. I find it amazing that you dont know the policies of the candidate that you support. So it is useless to point out you are equally wrong about your lie 5 thru 8. If you dont know the facts about what your own candidate says, you obviously wont know the truth about the opponent. Read something non partisan! Romney is planning on weakening Medicare tremendously by turning it into a voucher system. Again, he has stated this numerous times as his platform, and so has Ryan.

POSTED BY: GULFFRIT | SEPTEMBER 2, 2012, 1:35 PM 1:35 PM

Obama and his liberal democrat base keep telling Americans that the debt doesnt matter! But with the Obama administration now spending about $1.2 Trillion a year more than the government takes in, it does matter! Obama would have to hike everyones taxes about 1,000% just to balance the yearly budget! That wouldnt even put a dent in the overall debt! In fact his plan to raise taxes on the folks (Rich People) that employ most Americans would only pay for about 10 days of Obamas drunken sailor spending! So please, Obama show tell us all how the Debt Doesnt Matter! What makes that really funny is Obama once said Bush was being Un-Patriatiocwhen he added to the debt! But suddenly now on Obamas watch, the debt doesnt matter anymore! The only thing the Obama administration has built was a mountain of debt and lies! You would have to be dumber than a bag of rocks if your planning to vote for Obama again!

@NEWCOUNTRYMAN The interesting thing about Obama saying that business couldnt thrive without the infrastructure that the government provided is the fact that Obama tries to eliminate the business and consumer from the equation. Yes, its true that government built the roads for goods to be shipped, but without the tax dollars provided to the government through the success of business, the efforts of the workers, the investments of the wealthy, and the consumption of the public every productive cog in our capitalistic society then the government wouldnt have the funding to build the roads, nor would the demand for the roads exist.

All of your Marxist has been exposed, but apparently you think you can continue to make outrageous statements to keep your sheeple on the hook. However, you cant shift your camouflage well enough to make much traction. You have the advantage by controlling the MSM, but the People have other sources of information, so we tune out MSNBC, for example, as you can easily see by their ratings. It looks like the tingle going up my legguy, Chris Matthews, is going to have a mental breakdown. It is, judging by many of the comments here, a contagion within the Marxist movement in the USA.

Republicans have used the four words to attack Obama as out of touch with the realities of owning and operating a small business. If I had a horse that was a LAME as this excuse the humanitarian thing to do would be to have it put down. That same infrastructure was there for everyone. Some people utilized their imagination, initiative, and were willing to take extraordinary financial risks to develop and build successful businesses, Others were content to go along for the ride. Now we see the riders and their apologists complaining that the driversof the economy are taking a route that is not scenic enough. To paraphrase Mr. Obamas driving analogy we no see that D equals Decline and/or Depression. R is now poised to represent Recovery and Responsibility.

What did Obama say when he got elected? I will go after those cola plants and drive up their expenses so much they will not be able to stay in businessSo he touts the electric car so his servants all buy them, then he cuts off the electricity. One last point if I might. Could someone tell me why on earth we are not using our energy resources that we have?? What are we saving it for?? In the not to distant future we will find new energy sources and then oil and coal will be mostly useless. Is that the plan?? Sounds pretty stupid to me. I have been a careful observer of politics for decades, and have noticed that Dems use fear, hate and even racism to manipulate their unthinking supporters, and their opponents. Do Republicans do this too? Some, but less so than Dems. Look honestly at the last century, when the two Superpowers (USA and USSR) were battling it out economically more than militarily. What system worked better? Now, you may point to China vs the USA as an opposing example. But really, the US has become much less economically free in the past 50 years, while China has become much more economically free in fact, it has more freedom in some ways than the US! Business in the US is being stifled by a bewildering and expensive array of regulations, large and small. Its true that the morals of the bankers, financiers and business owners are getting worse. But the liberals, if anything, are pushing for more immorality and less religious guidance, and at the same time, more government regulations, and are encountering less and less resistance to their agenda. The bankers, financiers and business owners, on the other hand, have pushed things too far, but are seeing that its bad for them too. So, instead of more government regulation, why not more consumer education (in this, the information age)? Name and Shame. There should be an app for that.

POSTED BY: CLEARLY | SEPTEMBER 2, 2012, 2:39 PM 2:39 PM

What Obama doesnt get is that while all business owners had help from numerous sources they still had the guts to lay their economic lives on the line and put everything they have into their business. And that, is what separates a business owner from some other hard working citizennot the fact that government was there. The guy just doesnt

get it and never will.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him president. The foregoing is attributed to an article published in the Czech Republic.

The last 2 years of bush the democrats controlled the house filibustered continuously in the senate, first 2 years of obama the democrats controlled the house, senate and presidency, no budget, housing bubble, obamacare, over-regulation(read strangulation) of businesses large and small. and absolutely ZERO job creation outside of the bloated federal bureaucracy. The no man is an islanddefense Democrats use to justify Obamas amazingly revealing You didnt build that statement is just priceless. Of COURSE, we all get some kind of help. Its a given. The real question is Why would ANY politician attack individual achievement, one of the most beautiful things that any human has? That is precisely what Obama did. But why? Why sully individual achievement? Why diminish it? What does a politician gain from that? Seriously, you stand up in front of the world and say that without infrastructure you would be nothing? That youre not that smart? Why? What kind of person says that? Only someone who is themselves a NOTHING. Someone who came by their success by being a fake, by getting everything handed to them, by making stuff up, and who is deathly afraid that they will be caught. See Elizabeth Warren, the woman who faked her heritage to climb the ladder of academia and now wants to be a Senator. She made the You Didnt Build That argument famous. The entire purpose of You Didnt Build that is to diminish the success of OTHERS. Its like OK, I may have fudged it some to get where I am, but so did YOU! Youre not so smart! The difference, obviously, is what was the nature of the help? Honest or Dishonest. You Didnt Build That isnt about government or infrastructure. Its about deflection from the true nature of both Warren AND Obama. The dishonest person diminishes others achievements to deflect away from their fraudulent resume. The honest person never does.

Regardless of which interpretation Obama meant business did build that bridge. A business was hired to build it with taxpayer money including taxes from businesses. And we do have the highest business tax rate in the world. While GE can hire 1000s of people to find loopholes in order to pay no taxes, the little guy has to cough up the cash. Romney is for keeping the Bush tax cuts. Democrats used to say the Bush tax cuts were only for the rich ignoring the fact they were for everyone. Eventually they had to admit they were wrong. Romneys plan lowers taxes for EVERYONE, not discrimination. Not so with our class warfare president. Half the people dont pay income taxes while the top 10% pay 75% of income taxes.

Government builds NOTHING. It has no money except what it gets from taxpayers and the businesses that employ them. Yes, we who own and work for the businesses DID build that.

When obama said you didnt build it, he was setting business people up for the next lineAfter his reelection The government and the community should actually share ownership in it and after the government gets their half, the community should split the remainder of the profits equally!

Im pretty hard core Conservative (think Mark Levine) - Republicans should not do stuff like this (if its not a plant which is also a tactic being used by the Dems frequently). When Mitt Romney is President, stunts like this will invite more hate and vitriol from the Democrats which is already at an extreme level towards Republicans with all the mischaracterization and misrepresentation I see today.

I am blown away at the replies here trying to agree with Obama that if you have a business you did not build it They are probably the 1/2 that pay NO FEDERAL taxes and in fact usually get thousands back. I am sick of my taxes going to bail out individual California homeowners. The State came up with a great plan. The bank would cover 1/2 of the amount the house was under water and the Govt would cover the rest. First of all that plan uses MY taxes to bail out someone that bought a house they could not afford. Worse yet is that the banks did not

agree to the plan so California covered the entire ammount. This country will implode if we have four more years of this man.

@TRUFFLEMAN2340 The truth is the government doesnt have any funds to build anything they take the funds from us and give Half of it back to us, to build something like this airport. And for this we are supposed to be thankful.

@xJonx: Do you know what an antecedent is? Im betting not, since businesswas the antecedent to that, not success.

If you play the entire speech of what Obama said it is much worse. Liberals and the media hold Obama to pitiful standards He seems to be coddled like a child getting a ribbon for last place. Can we agree he is a bad president, but remains a likable figure, but still is a very weak president and leader. Mitt Romney has a sterling business record quote from Bill Clinton and will take responsibility not shirk away from it. I hope Romney/Ryan get our country out of its current malaise.

Most of the storiesand wild claimsIve read about Mr. Obama are factually correct, no matter what his lying minions say. Remember these are the same people that accuse Romney of being a tax cheat, a felon, hating women, hating dogs, hating disabled children, of causing the death of a woman, etcAnything they say lacks credibility. Even Obamas own minions would not answer a simple question this morningThe question: Are Americans better off today than they were 4 years ago? Not one of his mental midget advisors would give a yes or no..Hmmmmm..

There si going to be a lot of pain to put this country back together again. No one is going to win any pouplarity contests, but after Obama is gone, hopefully we will be able to rebuild. If he is re elected, the tipping point tips and we are gone. It is that simple. Now is the time for brave people to roll up their sleeves and get to work to kick this adminstration out of office and grapple with the garbage it has left us before we perish as a nation-fiscally and practically.
