Notice to ByWard Market Businesses, Vendors & Residents William Street Pedestrian Area (between York & Clarence) Reconstruction and Modifications to start week of September 17th
The firm Ottawa D Squared Construction Ltd. has been engaged by the City of Ottawa to undertake the construction of the William Street Pedestrian Area (between York & Clarence). The enhancements to this area will include: a sidewalk widening on William an enhanced public space with lighting, trees, benches & planters at York & William expanded boulevards and a concrete crosswalk across York at William expanded boulevards on Clarence at William This work is scheduled to begin the week of September 17, 2012. Once the work has commenced it will take approximately 8 weeks to complete. The various operations include: removal of existing sidewalks, curb and pavement and then the relocation of street lights and catch basins followed by the pouring of concrete and paving. The final step is the installation of the trees and street furnishings. There will be no work done on weekends and accommodations will be made for pedestrians and deliveries.
