Course of Action Our group starts when our professor told us to have our outreach program.

We created our own group so that everyone will be compatible with each other. At first, our group didnt have any idea of what kind of community we will conduct our outreach program. Each of us asked if our barangays will allow us to have an outreach program in their community. The next day, our leader, Mr. Dacop decided to have our outreach program in their barangay, which is in Paraaque City. Our group decided to have a letter addressed to our parents which will inform them that we will be conducting an outreach program in Paraaque City and to ask them for their permission to do our activity(see attached files). After distributing the letter we thought of what kind of program should we use and came up with an idea. Now we had our program, but we didnt have any funds. For us to be able to obtain our funds we solicited money from Mapua students and in our communities. Mr. Dacop: Since we are not allowed to use our own money to buy necessary things for our outreach program, we have to conduct a solicitation. Though it was hard to talk to someone you dont even know, I tried talking to them in order for us to gather some funds. I started to get some donations with my friends. Even though they are many, the funds that I have collected are not enough. I was forced to talk to people that I dont even know just to have little donations. I discussed to them about out program and I said that the money will go the foods of the children. Some donated and some did not even bother to listen. After talking to a lot of people I have collected at least 50 pesos which is already a big help for our group. Ms. Sta.Ana: A few days before our outreach program I decided to start my solicitation. We need to generate some funds for the children that we will feed. I asked people from our community some donations for our outreach program. Some of them opened up and gave donations. I also asked some of our classmates some help and a few gave their donations. In total I gathered P40. Ms. Querubin: I asked some people in our community for some donations. I discussed to them to whom will the donation go and of course our program for the outreach. My neighbor gave me P50. I also asked some of my classmates if they could give some donation. Some of them gave donations for the children as well. Ms. Mojica: For me to gather the funds we needed for our outreach program I asked some people from our neighborhood for some donations. I also asked some of my fellow students if they have some to spare. But before asking them for the money, I explained to them how we plan to use it and who will benefit from their generosity. Im happy to say that some of these people I talked to gave some donations. Mr. Amante: I asked my fellow students for my solicitation. I told them that we will go to a community in Paraaque and conduct an outreach program. I was happy to see that

although a lot of these people are busy, they still found time to help others. A lot of them gave our group support for our outreach program. Ms. Velasco: My technique to earn money for the feeding program, is to ask donation from my blockmates and friends. I talked to them and asked them for 1 peso, for the feeding program that we will have under the subject SS11. I easily, earned money because they dont hesitate to give and to help others.

Evaluation Mr. Amante: While conducting the outreach program I felt happy. I felt good because I was able to help those children. I saw their smiles as we spent time together and when we gave them some burgers and drinks. Even if it was just a little while, we made them happy. We also played games with them. They were laughing. And the sound of their laughing made us laugh as well, because we all felt glad that we were able to make them feel that way. Mr. Dacop: When we walked through the streets and saw the children without food and shelter, we stopped and thought some things about them. Somehow, there is an urge in us wanting to help them. Even just a single coin can be a big help to them or even just a small amount of food. But the thing is, we all get exhausted as the day ends and never thought about those who are in need anymore. We focus on the things that give us satisfaction from all the material cravings without knowing that helping someone in need can actually make us happy. Mr. Dela Cruz: We went to Paraaque to conduct our outreach program. As we entered the community we were about to conduct our program I was able to see a world behind my wall. I saw these people trying really hard every day as compared to the likes of us who belong in a well-off family, who just pile up a list of what we will ask our parents to buy. I felt a sense of compassion about the children who were participating in the program. They were so happy because of the simple things we played and the food we brought. It felt warm inside of me knowing that I helped making these children put on their smiles. Ms. Mojica: Even though our program was a little simple, still it is an effective way that made the kids happy. We also had some realizations in life. We learned that we should always be thankful for whatever we receive because it is a blessing. We must also stop being greedy for some things and learn to share whatever we have to those who are in need. I learned from this activity that if we are looking for true happiness, then we should try helping other people. Seeing marks of happiness in their faces because of our help can erase my negative feelings and makes me feel satisfaction inside. Ms. Ojeda: When we reached our destination we saw a group of children eating some snacks. Some of it fell from the ground and the children bent down, picked the food up and ate it. The ground was dirty. I felt pity for them. Its because if it were me I wouldnt have

bothered doing what they did because I can still get more if I want to. It made me felt very thankful because Im blessed with a family that can put up with my needs and wants. I realize that I should be appreciative of what I have and be happy. During the program I saw these kids again. I talked to them and tried my best to make them laugh and talk with us. Ms. Querubin: It has been a while since I participated in an outreach program. Like any place I went with some people to conduct the program, I always feel these little heart aches every time I see little children who are in need. I also felt lucky because I didnt experience their living conditions. It made me very thankful of the things that are given to me; because as much as I can disregard a thing so simple to me can be something of worth to other people. I felt happy that I was able to help other people. Ms. Sta. Ana: Last November 12, 2011, we spent our outreach program with little kids in an area at Paraaque. We bought burgers from Jollibee and juices for them. We also had fun and games at the middle of the program and other activities that made them feel loved and cared by others. Before the program ended, we gave them the food and drinks we bought. As we sat in front of the kids, we noticed that the food we gave them made them very happy. Even if it were simple burgers, it still put a smile in their faces. I remember this kid that we asked about what he wants to be when he grows up and told us he wanted to go to another country and follow someone there. Well, I just hope that someday hell be able to make that a reality. Ms. Velasco: My heart melted, especially when I saw the kids. I was pitiful to the children, seeing them with untidy clothes. I felt happiness, by talking to them especially when they smiled back at me. For the first time, I had a long patience with the kids, because the 3 of them are not talking and participating, so I try to be closer and feel them comfortable. didnt feel tired after the program at all, I feel that I really spend my time worth it.
