AT&T and Prague FCCLA highlights the dangers of texting and driving
AT&T* and Prague High School FCCLA joined forces Friday, September 14 to highlight the dangers of texting while driving as part of AT&T's ongoing effort to curb the dangerous behavior. AT&T's External Affairs Manager Jerry Bayliss presented the company's "It Can Wait" campaign at Prague High School before an audience of students and event organizers. Also attending was State Representative Danny Morgan and OHP Trooper Miller. "As a company, we continue to invest billions in our network to ensure our customers have a fantastic mobile experience wherever they are," said Bayliss. A 2012 survey commissioned by AT&T indicates that while 97 percent of teens know texting while driving is dangerous, 43 percent of them admit to sending a text while driving and 75 percent say the practice is common among their friends.

By: Sharon Maggard A new radio station hit the airwaves last month and is broadcasting right here from Prague, Oklahoma. KIOP 88.3 FM started broadcasting August 10, 2012, as a station for Oklahoma Catholic Broadcasting (OCB). "We are so excited about the new radio station in Prague," said OCB Board President Jeff Finnell of Edmond. "It's just amazing how the Lord has worked to help us spread the gospel." Mr. Finnell, along with Deacon Larry Sousa of Norman, founded Oklahoma Catholic Broadcasting nine years ago as a non-profit organization. OCB is dedicated to answering the call of Pope John Paul II for a new evangelization by providing positive,
wholesome and inspirational programming in the state of Oklahoma. In answering this call, OCB intends to use various broadcast media to transmit the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the fullness of the traditions and truths as preserved, revered and proclaimed by the Roman Catholic Church for 2000 years. At its inception, OCB bought time from Tyler Media Group in Oklahoma City to broadcast "Catholic Answers Live" for two hours, one day a week. They gradually continued to purchase more air time upon receiving more sponsorships until it got to 5 days a week, 7 hours a day. OCB is currently carried on two Oklahoma City radio stations, KTLR 94.1 FM that is a 24/7 station and KTLR
890 AM which starts at 1 p.m. and signs off at dusk. OCB is also carried on a Lawton station, KOEG (King of Endless Glory) 88.3 FM. Two other new stations also were formed right after the Prague station was started due to radio translators that help span the horizon for listeners. These stations are located in Bristow, KIOP 105.7 FM and in Tulsa, MOP 94.9 FM. The IOP letters stand for Infant Jesus of Prague. The Prague radio schedule is rebroadcast at the Bristow and Tulsa stations. According to Fr. Oswalt, pastor of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague and home of the Shrine of the Infant Jesus, the radio station in Prague was made possible
