I. Identification of the lesson

Activities:

Pre- reading: Students are introduced to the topic of the lesson through pictures related to famous writers. Then, they are asked what these people have in common. Students after recognizing some of these famous writers match each name (1-6) with their corresponding book cover. Students get in pairs and make a list of the most interesting books they have ever read. Afterwards, they have to mention what kind of book they are. Some kind of books are given in order they can choose among their preferences. Students are introduced to the vocabulary of the lesson by means of pictures and definitions. Students are introduced to the general and specific objectives of the lesson.

While reading: Students read three texts and recognize: what kind of texts they are, what their purposes are and what they are about. Students read the texts again answer the questions by choosing the correct answer. This activity intends students read for getting specific information. Students read the once more and complete the sentences with the name of the corresponding book.

Students read the texts and find the name of the review section for each definition. Students read the text for the last time and complete a fact file about each of the books.

Post-reading: Students are asked to write the cognates presented in the texts. Students choose the meaning of some words from the texts according to the context. To do so, they have to underline the correct meaning of the word.

Assessment: Formative assessment; students get in groups and discuss some questions related to their favourite book, genre and author.Then, they share their answers to their classmates.
