This company is the well known brand in real estate development industry in Bangalore. It was established in the year 1996. The company has delivered over 12 million square feet of beautifully developed residential properties to the satisfied customers spread all over India and abroad. The company has a huge clientele from different walks of life, while the majority being from the blue chip companies like Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, HCL, HP, IBM, Intel, Cisco etc, The company has been instrumental in setting benchmarks in developing residential projects in Bangalore Metropolitan Region by using well designed engineering plans, standard construction material and strictly conforming to the guidelines issued by the approving authorities. In fact we were the first to introduce 80ft wide main roads in the BMRDA approved residential layouts in Bangalore. Educational Background and current profile of the Entrepreneur:


Mr. S. Jagadeeswara Reddy is the founder and Managing Director of the JR Housing Developers. He is a B.Com graduate, after graduating in B.Com from Karnool, Andhra Pradesh he entered into his family run business which is mining in Karnool. Later he bought 10 acres of land in Bangalore in 1980s as an investment. When he observes the real estate boom in Bangalore he realized a potential business in real estate. He shifted to Bangalore and started JR Housing Developers pvt ltd in 1996. With over 16 years of experience in the field of real estate, land development and construction, he was instrumental in setting many benchmarks in the industry. All the residential developments so far undertaken by the company are being meticulously planned by him, foreseeing the future need and practicality. He is also the vice president of Karnataka Land Developers Association, playing an active role to ensure that the development authorities like BMRDA does systematic infrastructure development in the upcoming residential suburbs of Bangalore.

Professional Challenges and Opportunities:


Initially he was into mining business later he shifted to real estate by finding the potential in this business. When he started he was new to this industry. He tried and understands the dynamics of this industry in terms of land development and construction. When he started this business there were already well known big players in the market like Prestige Group, Vakil Group and Concorde Group were well established. He built his business on the basis of Quality, Good After sale assistance and transparent approach. Bangalore as a fastest growing city at that time gave him many opportunities by which he gained a lot of experience. Initially he started with only land development i.e. developing layouts and selling plots, later they entered into construction business also by starting JR Infra Engineering Pvt Ltd. Now he is trying to expand his operations to other parts of India and looking for some ventures in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Kerala also. The future challenges lies in terms of expanding his business as pan India and opportunities are the growth in real estate business in Tier II cities which he is trying to capture (He is starting a new venture in Mysore named as: JR Queenstown)

Personal Challenges and opportunities:


When he started this venture he had no experience in this business because of his lack of experience in promoting his venture, his first venture Subha Priya Layout was a failure. Later he understood the drivers of this business. He understands Location of the venture and Quality which they provide to customer in terms of service are important drivers. He used to collect information about various residential townships across the world to know the best practices. As a person he is very dedicated to his goals and objectives, and he is a open minded person inviting new ideas and knowledge all the time. He gained 16 years of experience in this business, this experience and his contributions made him vice president of Karnataka Land Developers Association. Playing an active role to ensure that the development authorities like BMRDA does systematic infrastructure development in the upcoming residential suburbs of Bangalore.

Handling lot of pressure by expanding business is one of the current challenges for him as he is nearing the age of 60. The key challenges in future will be handling with business at multiple locations.

Societal Challenges and opportunities:


The societal challenges for real estate business are mainly lies in developing trust among the customers. JR Housing Developers follows the instructions given by the local municipal body B.B.M.P and B.D.A , so that the necessity documents can be verified in the offices . Another issue in this regard is that availability of daily labour for construction activities. He faced severe problem in the initial years in managing the work force for construction activities, now he able to manage this situation by tie up with some local mediators who provides labour for construction activities. He is trying to make it more organized in terms of construction activities in future and standardizing their processes. As they are expanding to new locations carrying their brand name will be biggest future challenge for them.
